I say time to retire the 3GR family of motors that replaced the JZ family. And bring in the new family of compact inline 6 turbo power plants to compete the latest from EU, Japan etc.

Huh, wonder if the engineers working on the I6 will be the ones to craft a new GR series of I6 and bring them back to their lineup?I say time to retire the 3GR family of motors that replaced the JZ family. When Suzuki can make a FWD inline 6......Yeah, and you can't make a FWD I6.... Well not as easily as a V6
Was just wondering. Guess we'll wait for the V6 to trickle down. This should be fun to watch in the coming years...barring any economical crashes obviously.Correct; also have to put a bit more time and effort into safety consideration as well, or so I've been told.
I believe that is why the Infiniti Q Series exists nowIt's a tough one for me because I like the way I6 are balanced, sound, and how easy they are to work on.
but I also like V6 because they're much easier to get further back into the chassis. the CE of the R33/R34 GTR wanted to put the VQ30DETT (well, an evolution of it) into the R34 GTR in order to cut a ton of weight and get the motor much further back in the engine bay, but the board would not approve the extra money required, so it stayed RB26. interestingly enough, Nismo took that recommendation and did this in JGTC, and that car was incredible and far more competitive than it was with the RB.
Sometimes I wonder how much faster/agile the street car would have been if his vision could have been realized..
It would explain the R34-ish stylingMay very well be..
I know that the R35 definitely picked up right where Nismo left off, and seeing as how the Q uses the VR30 (VR38 evolution), I'd say it at least has some tie to where we are today.
Small changes can end up changing everything; the Butterfly Effect so to speak.
Its sold in Japan as the Nissan Skyline. Same goes for the G35/G37.It would explain the R34-ish styling
That makes a lot more senseIts sold in Japan as the Nissan Skyline. Same goes for the G35/G37.
