I made this chart and added the values to an app I'm working on, so I can display it as a simple percentage bar.
I'm not 100% confident in these numbers though, and would much rather have the actual values from a confirmed table.

@razorlab, is this something you could help with? I've spent hours going through BINs, HEX, A2Ls and XDFs, but I just can't seem to find the correct values.

Any help would be much appreciated!

These are from a M240i RWD. I need to find them in a Supra/Z4 BIN to see if they are the same.

So, I've been away for a week on vacation, but before that I managed to update the oil level tool to be more accurate thanks to the number chart @razorlab posted.

I've been testing it for a week now, and it seems to be fairly accurate.

The engine has to be idling and the car has to be stationary for the reading to be correct, just like when using the one in the iDrive menu. So I made it only display a reading when these criteria are met. (Engine on, car standing still)

This reading is from right after a cold start. I noticed it takes a few minutes for the gauge to settle on the correct value. That's probably why the one in iDrive says you should drive the car for 30 minutes before measuring.

Other than that, it seems to work pretty well.

Not really related to this, but I also made a tool for calculating how much E85 to add to reach a desired target blend. It pulls the current tank level and ethanol content from the car.

Yes, correct. Using 22 442C for now, just for testing, it's reading all gauges at 1 Hz in the oil level page.

But I believe the oil temp reading from the "secret menu" in the cluster uses the same reading as Mode 01? When testing the engine oil temp (Mode 01 05) in my app, it was the closest one to showing the correct value closest to the one in the menu.

I also tested polling with a couple of Mode 22 gauges at 20/40 Hz together with several temperature gauges at 1 Hz. It seemed to be fairly stable. Update time was around 25–50 ms for the whole poll according to my logger tool, but I only tested it with 7–8 gauges being polled at the same time.

The ethanol sensor (RAM adress) is in a seperate poll at 1 hz.

Did you note the rpms bump up to 1100 during the iDrive oil reading? That’s how I take my readings also.
