2023 Manual Supra
I've got another black Supra on the way -_-. I was told it would be here in mid June. I wanted to get Stratosphere Blue... but the more I thought about it... Black just suits me and my edgy heart.

It's also a manual. I think I'm making a fucking big mistake going with a manual Supra, but I figured I'll see how things go. Grannas was making a T56 kit for the care a few months back and even has it available for some BMW models, but there hasn't been an update. I've also heard great things about the PTB Clutch with the damper, so I'll probably be checking that out.

Sorry for the ultra late response. I had the metal cut at sendcutsend and I just put together some stuff in Illustrator and sent the file over to fastdecals.com
Why do you think you're making a mistake with the manual?

Judging from responses between you and the other poster, I'm guessing that you like to stoke the flames of manual vs. auto discussions. It does make for good entertainment I guess.

My reasoning for not wanting a manual in this car is that there's no one that rebuilds ZF S6-53 transmissions. Their internals are only rated for around 440 to 450 lb ft. You need more than just a clutch upgrade.

There are no blocking ring, fork pad, gearset, etc. upgrades for the ZF manual. There's a reason some people running big numbers on this transmission get quiet about their cars on social media after a few months.

With all that said I'm going to try the PTB clutch solution and hope for Grannas Racing to release their T56 kit for the A90. It's already available for BMWs running this transmission.

So for me I can care less about automatic or manual. I'm looking for whatever transmission offers the best performance and can be hardened to increase longevity on the platform I choose to build on.

To be honest I wasn’t trying to stoke anything, it’s genuine curiosity.

I’ve had 700+ whp on my mt supra with a cm1000 clutch for 9500 miles and atleast 30 track days now. Plus hundreds of pulls.

no issues, although I have been keeping my eyes on grannas racing for next season when I max out my current setup.

there are a few other MT owners that I know running 700 to 920 whp on stock transmission with no issues.

Received the MRG 82mm Stud conversion kit with and they look amazing and was not expecting them to feel so light. I got these for the SSRs but I'm going to go ahead and throw them on the stock rims.

I'm going in with the expectation of not being so lucky and hope that when it does fail that Grannas has the swap kit ready.

@Mimosa Somewhere in this thread, you mentioned a super secret oil filter relocation option. I'm very interested. Do you have any info you can share?

EOS has a relocation kit. I had to reach out to them directly about it.

There's a swap shop in Seattle that upgrade internals for the ZF S6-53 when swapping into other BMWs. I'm speaking to them this afternoon.

The transmission’s limits are most challenged in 1st and 2nd gear

Stock trans limits:

1st Gear Stress: with 453 lb⋅ft input, 1st gear (4.0:1 ratio) generates ~1,812 lb⋅ft of output torque, close to the transmission’s maximum design limit.

Let's take my car for example, which isn't used for drag, and say roughly 700ftlb torque:

3rd Gear Stress: With 700 lbâ‹…ft input in 3rd gear (1.6:1 ratio), output torque is ~1,120 lbâ‹…ft, significantly less stress than in 1st gear on a stock car which is 1,472.

Bottom Line: Avoid this car if you plan to drag race. For roll racing, highway pulls in higher gears and circuit racing ZF S6-53 can take a beating. It might be a little oversimplified but this is why you see 700 and 900 whp S6-53 cars on the road for long periods of time with no failure, and FBO E85 stock turbo guys blowing the trans at the strip making less power and torque.

Well luckily I don't drag race. I only do course driving and hit the mountain passes. But I do like having a map with big numbers.

I've really got to do more research on what's available for the platform now since it's been over 2 years since I last checked.

Damn... Only one radiator left. Got mine in today.

The packaging was top notch. I wish they made an entire kit for the car.

I'll be adding more weight than that to the front after everything else is installed. By the time I get done with the car it will probably weigh more than the new Nismo Z....

Did you manage to collect data on whether the forge radiator is effective or not?
