Sorry typo the Z4 does come with a manual in markets outside of the US. Here's a video of someone driving one.

^^ That's Maaya Orido, daughter of famous racing driver Max Orido. She's been getting into racing herself now.

Very cool that she got to drive a manual Z4. Rumor is that since the Supra got its manual BMW will now offer their version of it in the Z4 3.0L models as long as it remains in production.

The chance of a weight reduction is at least 10 times smaller than a power bump ?

Supra needs a power bump cause many people use it as a weekend car to track, touge, drag…etc
Who doesn’t want more power. Good point. If they can do it w/out overheating on track, kudos to them. I love what they did with the GR Corolla Morizo Edition trim. Like @johnnyskids said, weight reduction is highly coveted on a racetrack. If they did that to our Supra… it’d be hard for me not to try and get on that list.

You certainly could be right. It’s not like there are rumours or other things pointing to it. Was really just me putting that out into the world and hoping maybe it materializes.

The question is, how much input and control does BMW have in decisions for the Supra. I wouldn’t think they would be too happy if Toyota modified it and made it faster than the M2/3/4. I would think Toyota could convince them of a lighter weight version a bit easier, thus not increasing the stated power figures and keeps not it in another “performance bracket” on paper. The issue with increasing power is reliability can be affected as well as adjustments to suspension, braking, cooling, etc. Where as a weight reduction can improve reliability and durability.

Your notion that guys who track their Supra want more power first and foremost only makes sense if the track you are referring to is a drag strip. All the road/race track people I know prefer weight reduction if there is sufficient power already present. They tend to have an easier time to access the gains and it’ll help extend wear part lives.

I doubt the supra will get any power bump. It might get the new B58 engine with port injection though.

Nitro Yellow is discontinued...? That's the best color available! For a sportscar like this it should remain available.

The MKV in yellow gives off very strong yellow RX-7 FD3S vibes.

I hope this doesn't turn out to be true.

I'm glad they're changing the colors up every year but give us a green damnit
