Agreed. Pretty sure other companies will offer similar if not better looking front lips, spoilers, actual full on diffusers and rear spoilers/wings. But I can see the TRD side vent replacement to be a popular upgrade. Would probably look better on a darker color or red. Can't wait for full on body kit replacement parts.

How can you make the side vents functional? You have to cut into the door sill and have the air located somewhere to the back. It's not gonna be cheap or easy. Maybe on the race car, they have things like fuel cells, or functional rear brake or rear diff cooling. But you will be hard pressed to try that on a street car. These side coverings cover up the fake side vents and allow for better cleaner airflow.

Did Toyota say how much of these are making it to production?

Yeah I doubt it will be a common mod. I doubt anyone would wanna butcher their brand new Supra like that. It will kill the resale value. The only ones I see doing it are those making a dedicated time attack car who needs the rear diff/brake cooling.

So this would be an OBD2-pluggable lap data recorder for track use? It has an SD card slot to take your lap data into a PC/Mac program for later analysis presumably. Or maybe that unit only works with the car's built-in infotainment screen?

Could be a data logger or lap timer.

My uneducated guess is that these TRD parts are functional. Getting a competitive Nurburgring time is personally important to Akio, therefore I'm thinking these racy bits will help the car get down to that magical 7:40 time that Toyota freely discusses. For me, I'd just as well see even the stock corner spoilers deleted. Just another part to clip a curb with and spend big bucks to replace. I trust the aftermarket will come up with some very cool additions to this car. Patience will be a virtue when it comes to personalizing.

Yeah, this is basically what that is. On the 86 they had a special head unit that it worked with, but I'm not sure if it's integrated into the MKV's infotainment. More than likely just telemetry logging because this is one of the prototype mules that gets beat on.

After seeing them side to side, the A90 doesn't look that much smaller. But the double bubble roof makes it look a lot taller :/

There is a black plastic piece covering the upper part of the door jamb, right behind where the side door vent air would exit. I wonder what is underneath this plastic. Has Toyota already provided the openings?

The older car must have been lowered, becasue the factory height difference is less than 1 inch.
