Guys I understand your point, I appreciate all the different opinions since that's the whole purpose of this post lol. I already have port injection and meth on my car, I'm not new to modifying cars... Reason why this turbo is so cheap is because they're cutting the middle man commission. Half the turbos out there that are branded get manufactured by these same guys. Not saying i will buy this turbo but i was curious if anyone had ran it before

I'm not sure, but many high-quality electronics are produced in China, and we happily pay thousands for them. When purchasing from a reputable U.S. company, you're not just buying a product but investing in their research, development, customer support, and warranty. These companies have a reputation to uphold, so they must address product issues and only offer high-quality products.

Buying directly from China is an entirely different game. Verifying claims about product ratings or material quality (even the steel quality used) is nonexistent due to the lack of repercussions. Warranties are non-existent, If you have a problem, they will ask you to send it back, knowing fully well it's going to cost you more to do so than the item itself, so it's a complete loss.

This is especially important for components like turbos, where the initial cost is high, and the labor for installation is even higher. Given the potentially catastrophic results, the risk is not worth the savings, in my opinion.

I'll take myself as an example, i will sell products regardless of where its made, but they need to be up to a certain standard. If the products keep causing issues, that will diminish the trust of my customers in Extreme Power House then I won't carry it.
I have removed 2 brands this month due to their sub-par customer support, and im not afraid to remove more. I take customers' trust in XPH very seriously, and im not going to risk it to make a small profit from a low-quality product.

This logic makes sense for all the CF steering wheels, aero and other parts that are all over the community.

It does not make sense when you're talking about a critical component that will cost you tens of thousands of dollars when it fails.

I don't think many people realize that a lot of Alibaba vendors are white label producers for brands they know, love, and trust. A large fraction, perhaps most, of the aftermarket parts available for this car--aero, exhaust, interior parts, suspension, turbos, wheels--are made in China (or another country with low-cost manufacturing and labor), and in a lot of cases by the same factories/vendors selling the same product, unbranded, on Alibaba for some extra revenue. Many Alibaba listings are cheap replicas, but a lot of it is the same stuff resold for 2x, 3x, 4x by a state-side company.

That's not to say buy anything and everything on Alibaba, but any margins in the aftermarket industry are predicated on finding a factory in China to make parts cheaply but with reasonably acceptable QC and selling for a multiple of that here and in other high-income countries.

If this is the case then someone needs to post the alibaba link for the new DAW hypercore that Jesse sells (already for a reasonable price) since the argument above is that alibaba cuts out out the markup from DAW lol. Then, we’re talking a bargain for the ages.

Not entirely true. A lot of the direct from china products are molds stolen from the original producer that is having them made in China, then inspects and quality controls them to their standards and then sells them.

The direct is usually made at a different ship (but using the same mold) and doesn’t QC them at all, along with sub standard processing at the same time. They are usually not individually inspected either.

Have had to deal with this directly with a friend, 1st batch and shipment was perfect, everyone was on site in china for the manufacturing. 2nd batch had a ton of issues and had to individually fix every single item to bring it to standards, costing more then producing it in the US.

So don’t go saying it’s simply beast cutting out the middle man, when the n most products that require a VERY HIGH quality control, that is the middle man being skipped and sub par products make it to the wild.

anyways, done trying to help you out, as that’s what you asked for. Please post pictures of the install and let us know how long it lasts. Should be a fun post.
