Why not fix the chip before it turns into a crack?
I will, but literally every single chip I've had repaired eventually turned into a crack.

Also my windshield has 30k on it already so it's pretty pocked up. Honestly I'm shocked it lasted as long as it did without chipping or cracking.

Yes they do. I picked up my 2023 in February and they sent me an email about 2 weeks later about my free track day/NASA membership. You only have a year to do it from the purchase date of your car, so you may want to look into it sooner rather than later.
I'm still bummed out that I missed out on mine, but I had a health issue that precluded me from any track driving in 2021 and I missed my window.

I would have loved to have a Supra "expert" driving coach walking me through the finer points of the car on track.

I live in New England, but honestly I would seriously consider a road trip to take you up on your invite. That's very kind and generous of you to offer Sir!

That’s practically worth the drive from FL ? I’d love to get some free Rock instruction. Been ages since I’ve been to ViR. What a fantastic track!

Just to be clear: my home track is Dominion Raceway. 2 mile technical course. I have learned a LOT there. Open offer to any forum member. we have 40 club days a year! which is unheard of. House is 11 miles from track, there is a hotel onsite though too.

If anyone wants to plan a VIR meet up I am all about that too!

Just checked it out. Looks like a great track to me.

Hey @Todday1 I had previously talked to you at AMP at one of the Nasa events. Did you say you made your own front splitter? If so what brackets are you using? Thinking I want to make an attempt to fab one up. Just need to make it removable for when I load onto my trailer.

No I added a wind dam to close up the gap but it is from APR. and all of them are not something you would take on and off. So I do not think it will be easy to try and make one. While there are pricey I would go with verus if I get another one. You have to use boards to get on and if trailer

I was thinking about trying to retro fit some race bread brackets and just creating my own composite or plywood splitter. Or I may just go with verus and wooden ramps if I give up. Ha.

Have any of you tried this to enhance the durability of your windscreen? We sold the shit out of it at a dealership I used to work for, and many people swore by it. If you can score the product cheap enough it would certainly be worth a try. I might be able to get my hands on some as well...

How is that going to protect against pitting and cracks? Looks like expensive Rain-X.

"Diamon-Fusion is an ultra-thin, protective glass coating that transforms ordinary automotive glass into a high-performing, water-repellent surface. Similar to a nonstick cooking pan, windshields treated with Diamon-Fusion cause rainwater and environmental pollutants to easily bead up and roll off the glass."

It's supposed to strengthen the glass surface as well, as it has a hardener built in. I dunno, I don't have a dog in this fight, just throwing the suggestion out there :dunno:
