What session was this? I was in the same run group and didn't really encounter issues with point bys except for the Orange Camaro giving late ones. Although I only drove on Saturday. Also you were moving out there!
Thanks, I appreciate that :)

Oh boy, that Orange Camaro was one of the slowest things I've ever seen. I just about got rear ended by the car behind me when I came up on him.

This was in session 4 on Saturday. The BMW driver came and found me after and to make sure we were cool. And we were, I wasn't upset, just happy to avoid an accident :) Generally, I thought the pointbys were pretty good.

That is how it should be done. Kudos to that guy. Stuff happens, but how you handle it afterwards makes a mountain of difference.

Found out the hard way. Survived my first ever track day a couple months ago at NJMP Thunderbolt. Picked up some wheels/tires off a forum member.. some track pads and fluid. Downpipe/tune are my only other mods. The day went perfectly, couldn't be happier with how the car performed other than me overdriving a bunch, a healthy amount of understeer. Hot brakes.

Anyways I was dealing with a pretty annoying clicking sound coming from all four corners depending on load. Did some research and apparently it's somewhat common with Apex forged wheels, took them off to remount them (fixed my clicking sound temporarily) and found this. My left rear must've self cleared on the track. Had no idea this was happening, bummed out. Will have them off the car again today to further inspect what the heck happened, what it ground on. Figured I'd report that the 19x11 et40 does not work on track ? stock suspension, no spacer.

Apex VS-5RS same spec. No issues with clearance. I do have KW DDCs @ stock ride height, but the differences are marginal.

Eh, so jealous every1 tracking and I have to let go this year entirely (finishing house so money is there)... Anyway will build the car some in the winter for 2025 :drive:
Also, my oil pump is diagnozed to be failing so waiting for the new one from Belgium for replacement...

You can live in your car, but you can’t race a house.
I know right... I'm gathering parts slowly here n there if there is a nice discount (waiting for those 20%+ deals on black friday to grab intake manifold) and will try to do suspension/brakes/power combo at the begining of 2025.
Still the pump needs to be taken care of, its a 2020 Supra.

We have finally the CRS in EU and its a v2 version straight but... no point for me to buy this when its still slower and goes out faster than Dunlop Direzza. Looking at Pirelli trofeo rs in 18's if they ever do it...

Anyway, any opinions on intake upgrades? Razrolab did lately and it got me thinking... AMS? Eventuri? Just looking for hp gains, sound is a nice addition only.

That guy has a thing or two to learn from this Corvette guy that tried to take me out after giving me a point by... luckily I was paying attention and let off. Def not an "advanced" driver move.

so did you and the corvette guy talk about that incident?

Glad there was no contact. Good job and reaction. Instructors should NOT give point bys outside of run group rules. Just confuses things.

WDCR does run a good program and tight ship. BMW driver was gracious to come find you after- that is the correct thing to do.

Show that video to the lead instructor. Not as a tattle tale but so they can use for teaching moment.

Don’t feel bad. There are people in advanced I wish I could demote.

It was too hot. I only ran one session outside of my TT laps.

I once gave a shitty point by. The driver honked, and flipped me off. Then sped off.

I pitted the next lap in hopes of finding him to apologize. Turns out he was waiting for me at the central area and proceeded to scream at me.

?

That is not a "personality" I would want to be on the same track as. If you red mist, you need to be demoted. I have never had anyone scream at me in paddock- that would not end well. Bald and ugly- prob scares them.

Confusing as hell... Been doing HPDE for 15 years and never has that kind of encounter...

I even drove with clubs that do not require point bys and that never happened.

In terms of hp gains, I did find this video on the Eventuri where these guys did a couple back to back dynos on an otherwise stock Supra and got gains. Whether or not that's worth the hefty price though is up to you.

Yes I saw that... point is i wanted to touch 600hp/crank (510whp?) on 98 fuel and hybrid turbo, so looking if there is even an option to grab few hp here n there or the fuel is just the restriction at this point, not airflow. Coz I got quoted 480-490whp is max on 98, later stages with E only... and I'm too lazy to run around with canister of E :)

You're a big dude...and I'm not, so I'll pick someone else to scream at.

No matter how bad the situation, that's not an acceptable response. If you're really that angry, take it to the steward of the meet and alert them. Let a cooler headed SOM manage the situation.

Im in the same boat. I was able to do two track days this year, but my funds are tied up in my master suite addition to this house until January :(

I will live vicariously through you all here. Live the dream... for us....
