Love this whole thread. A few questions:

1. Are you still running the stock PCV setup? It looks like you are but not sure if you have something else going on hidden.
2. Are you still running the stock catback or something else?

Thanks! This whole thread is filled with great info.

Glad the thread has been helpful!

I'm still running stock PCV setup. Two seasons with the Pure700 and not one bit of oil in the pre-turbo intake pipe, post-turbo charge pipe or intake manifold. We'll see if the Pure800 continues the same trend.

Stock catback with GESI catted downpipe.

Vitour P1 tires are kinda meh in my book. They were fast for one lap in one session then dropped down to be more like v730 pace for the rest of the day and the second day. I'll be going back to Bridgestone RE71R's.

Enjoy this video of me trying not to crash into the back of a Rush SR that didn't know what a point by is.

Sweet.

What are you using to mount your camera?

Good to know on the tires. Had me wondering as well. I keep going back to the Maxis for good grip new to cord, quick to warm up and longevity. Will you be going back to the Nankangs?

Hows the Pure800 feel on track vs Pure700 so far (responsiveness etc)?

Feels pretty good. I am hitting 3-4mph faster in the straights with a little less boost vs Pure 700. Response on track is pretty close to the 700.

Welcome to the club my pure 700 also failed
probably 5 track events in maybe 4000 miles
same way as yours and i wasn't even running more than 1.5 bar

had it repaired locally here with new wheels and it's been fine since than 40-50 track events
honestly think pure is over rated!!
i see your one also broke where the logo is rather strange!

what are you doing to combat Fuel Surge, anything under 3/4 is a problem for me

need to have this car full for time attack.

So after about 40 track days my Pure700 left the chat yesterday at my first track day of the season.

I had it towed home to be extra careful not to do any more potential damage.

I found the broken blade pieces in the intake manifold. Luckily no damage to the intercooler core.

Time to scope the cylinders to make sure the engine didn't ingest anything.

Filling my tank after every session. Luckily I don't get fuel starve on my main track. Even though it's 98% right turns, none of them are long sweepers.

i would have passed them without a point by after a few attempts of filling the mirrors. i don't have the patience you do, so good job.

Another reason for me to move back to RE71RS and leave the P1’s behind…

Someone asked this question on the Vitour P1 FB group, I answered with my personal experience and data. Then my comment was deleted and I was blocked from posting on the group. I noticed a bunch of other people’s posts that were the same type were also deleted. Basically, any comment not inflating the tires as faster than other tires is forbidden.

I’ll add that my fastest lap last weekend was on a used set of Nankangs and not my fresh P1s. Optimal was .6s faster on the CRS. Other competitors saw the P1 drop off pace after their first fast heat cycle as well… but at least the drop off is not nearly as bad as the TAP!
