Another reason for me to move back to RE71RS and leave the P1’s behind…

Someone asked this question on the Vitour P1 FB group, I answered with my personal experience and data. Then my comment was deleted and I was blocked from posting on the group. I noticed a bunch of other people’s posts that were the same type were also deleted. Basically, any comment not inflating the tires as faster than other tires is forbidden.

I used them once and remember they took longer to warm up, but were really good tires. They didn’t last as long as my Maxxis Victra RC1s from new to cord or stay as sticky all the way to the end like the RC1s. But I don’t have nearly as much experience with the CRSs as Bryan and Kyle do. And I’ve been getting a really good price on the Maxxis (or free), which sway my choice ofc.

I like the CRS, have used about six sets of them on the Supra, from V1 to V2. I prefer the RE71RS more, mainly for these reasons:

1. Stiffer sidewall, I like steering response
2. They multi-task really well, which matters a lot at the main track I frequent
3. Slightly faster because of the above
4. They turn on faster than CRS. I have done PB's on lap 2 with the RE71RS.
5. When they heat cycle out, they just get slower. CRS, in my experience, become more of a liability once heat cycled out.

Not sure if you've done wet laps on either tire but I felt the CRS was quite poor in the wet compared to the RE71RS, too.

Installed a do88 charge pipe to replace my blown apart OEM one.

I give the do88 charge pipe a 9/10 on fitment, 9/10 on finish and 8/10 on QC. There were some metal shavings and some bits of metal hanging off the tapped threads inside that I had to do a quick file pass on so there would be no possibility of ingestion.

for the do88 charge pipe, do you have a gap between the silicone coupler and the base of the flange (both/either sides)? Mine seems to have issues.

Guy makes cool YouTube Like videos I guess. I won't listen to anything he says after him saying the Hoosier TA Pros are not totally trash tires and are faster than RE71RS.

Marketing BS, just like the Vitour P1's.

I'll take real world experience over YouTube Influencer crap.

for the do88 charge pipe, do you have a gap between the silicone coupler and the base of the flange (both/either sides)? Mine seems to have issues.

You have to finagle it a bit more. Either way, as long as the actual clamp is behind the lip, you are fine, even if the coupler isn't butted up all the way to the flange.

Well over a year waiting for Bootmod3 Rev2, with nothing for the B58 yet. Not to mention a mobile logging app that is a mystery if it will even work every time I open it...

Time to move on and try something else.

Yeah, I'm really wishing I had gone with MHD right now. Unfortunately I would have to send my ECU back to Finland again. Definitely curious on your experience when you have switched.

Same. I'm lucky enough that Femto pass by my city every 2 or 3 months, but it's still a hassle (and cost) I'd like to avoid.

Found out why my Supra started to get a little stinky...

So I swapped a catless DP on and now it's even more stinky and sounds raspy raspy crappy crappy. Time to shop for a new GESI catted DP.
