Damn. Almost an extra $400 per set. I feel like most of these companies come out with a product at a reasonable price to get them moving then, if takes off, they decide to go ahead and rape us. ?
Race tires are not appropriate for daily driving use.
They say "200" but are from a 200tw tire. Plus very little tread. Plus increased road noise. Plus super sensitive to alignment.
I liked the Hankook R-S4. I used them as daily tires then drove my car to, on, and from Laguna Seca. They grip like an honest 200tw tire and last forever. Very forgiving on course, too.
Do you have another car you can drive during that small time you’ll be driving on the track tires. I just leave mine on during track season. Set it and forget it. But I do have other daily cars I can drive.
I do have another vehicle but plan to drive the Supra daily during the good weather so need a true dual purpose tire. It looks like there are some decent 200TW dual purpose tires out there.
I've honestly been driving around on this set of Kuhmo V730s all summer. They're so inexpensive I figured why not. Yeah, it's wearing them out a little faster, but they're still great on track. I've driven them on damp, wet, soaked, and flooded roads... and in a down pour on track.
They are top on my list, definitely better than the PSSs and a true dual tire. I read the comments which said they were decent in the rain. The Cup 2s are off the list.
