I’m surprised by how many of us prefer the Supra to an M car.
Surely can't be, because Supra forum ?

* You're not even considering RWD. Mentioning AWD. You'll DD in Chicago? Is that the primary reason .. What's your winter car.

* Supra coupe, M3 not. Rear seats important or not?

Ambient light....?

And common??? Did you compare sales figures ???
Some crazy people ? have fully black on black Supra in Chicago area, still get loads of compliments. Supra is a head turner with or without pops and farts whatever color it is..

Surely interior tech is updated on M3. Some prefer Supra. Less clutter..

No one knows your budget but you.

M3 obviously true BMW.

Hey guys,

Posting my first ever post on this forum, and it’s a bit of dilemma. Lately I have been thinking should I go from my Supra (that I love) to the G80 M3 xdrive.
Although I have loved the Supra (and it’s stock for the last 2 years) I just love the new BMW interiors and always wanted ambient lighting and that M feeling. With the Supra being a Nitro yellow I have gotten compliments in every drive I have ever made. But lately It feels more common but still people like it. But the M3 platform is so interesting and amazing capabilities, I’m really not sure if I should make the jump. Especially considering that The payment is more than double but is the car really worth more than double (in-terms of speed, features, etc) and Supra looks way better than M3 in my opinion.
Really confused, any comments and opinions are welcomed and appreciated! Thanks in advance
Go with the new M2. You still get the modern BMW interior, screens, and S58 engine. Less weight than M3. Better design IMO.

The Supra is a GT while the M3 is not.

But most ppl who own an M3 will most likely not drive it on a racetrack so it’s pretty good for daily driving / fun car too but the question is do you really need the racetrack features?

The M3 is much heavier than the Supra.
Around 400kg (~900 pounds) and you will notice that.
The M3 has higher maintenance costs compared to the Supra, not only because it has xdrive.
Higher repair costs, more expensive spare parts.
Not to mention the costs of tuning or mods.

But you will get an amazing performing car.
It has much more traction when going 0-60 and after corners.
You can switch between RWD and AWD.
The engine is solid and durable and if you want to sell the car you always get good money for the M3.

If you are coming from a stock Supra the M3 will outperform it in any way.
But the fun in the Supra begins after tuning.
It’s like riding a wild bull.
Yup, well said.

That car looks fantastic. I’d spec it in white, red interior, bronze wheels. If I were in the market, I’d buy one immediately.
IMO The front looks awesome, but I still can’t get over the Hyundai Genesis lookalike taillights.

The s58 is an amazing power plant, but at the end of the day you’ll just be driving another 4 door bmw, that doesn’t stand out to 99 percent of folks. But that’s just my opinion, if you feel like the m3 is a better car, pick one up and don’t look back!

I personally love the supra, from the design to the drivetrain, and will be keeping mine To hopefully hand down to my kids one day. (Pending the electronics allow it to survive that long lol)

Comes down to one question. Does it bring you joy? No one here can answer that for you. You could move from Supra to a Miata and no one here could really say a thing (other than warn you to actually sit in the passenger seat and let someone drive you around) :)

Well the reason it was not tuned is because of the ecu unlock (I have the post 6/20). And I’m Kinda skeptical about shipping my ecu to femto even if it is a safe process. Cloning will cost almost $5k with the unlock.

M3 is a much better daily with AWD and rear seats. And it will also be faster in most cases. As a M car it also gets all the tech and perks. But M3 comes from a 3 series sedan, while Supra comes from a dedicated sports car chassis. The lightweight body, short wheelbase and low center of gravity are the advantages that no M3 can match. But although we have another family car, my wife complained about the practicality of Supra (yeah with a baby and in-laws coming, Supra is useless). So it really depends on what you are looking for.

Probably not the best forum to ask this question in. In hindsight, do whatever makes you happy.

If liking the practical nature of an M3 (4 doors, 4 seats) and power of Supra, have u considered an M340i? Would be cheaper and less weight than an M3, and same power train what u r used to.
