Bad as in it sucks, or bad for the car?
As proven by many YouTube creators the Sport settings allows for a faster drag and roll race car vs car. It's not bad for the car simply BMW's tuning/settings vs Toyota's. If you happen to like variety there's nothing wrong with having the Normal, Sport, and Sport Plus settings programed in. When added Sport Mode will be replaced by Sport Plus (BMW settings), Sport Individual can be set to Sport (Toyota settings), Normal will be unchanged. Adding Sport Plus adds variety and options there isn't anything bad about having options.

Ahh yes. Youtube Creators. The pinnacle of tuning experts.
I completely agree with YT creators and editing but Z4 vs Supra in many side by side comparisons have shown the Z4 to be a bit slower in side by side comparisons (despite almost exact weight; could be simply associated with drag). Sport Plus isn’t aggressive enough to damage anything on the Supra. From my personal experience it’s a bit more 2020 sounding on a 2021+ aside from the more aggressive nature of the sound it’s butt dyno indifferent. There’s nothing here to damage the all BMW components/platform from factory manufacturer tuning variants. That’s all I’m pointing out so there’s not a perception that adding optional settings to the B58 is going to blow it up; it just won’t. Simple as that, nothing more.

So your saying Sport Plus is faster than Sport settings on a Supra then?

It’s throttle mapping. 100% throttle is 100% throttle is 100% throttle.
Well....

We all know that the car can control the actual throttle plate differently than you're requesting it... so.. 100% throttle isn't always 100% throttle.

But yes. You're correct.

Sport+ is basically just untested. We've also seen it do weird shit with timing on the dyno w/ a tune. Because it (obviously) uses different tables.

lol you know what I mean.

If you raced two Supras at 50% throttle, one with sport and one with sport plus, the sport plus would be faster because it’s requesting more torque than sport at the same throttle request. At 100% throttle, both modes request the exact same torque.

Maybe YouTube creators race at 50% throttle?
