Everything was covered besides cost of labor. But documentation and receipts were needed. They are not going to take your word for it.
Oh for sure, I figured that would be the case! Just was curious if they’d actually be willing to fork over the money for all the mods or if they’d just give a percentage or max amount or something. Too bad labor is a large chunk as well but I get it.

I’m curious because I’ll be doing pistons, rods, top mount + support over the winter
So you're looking to do so much power that you'll be upgrading the pistons and rods?

Well make sure to get this clutch and hope for the best:

16340-TDKR-A

Real Street has the cheapest price.

The BMW specific part number for the ZF Supra transmission is GS6L50TZ. It is rated for around 450 lb-ft of torque. So annotate this part number because you will need it for replacements.

appreciate the info, thanks.

wont be maxing out the build initially but I want to future proof it and maintain reliability along the way.

If your set on another Supra and wanna get the build ready @Jakester has brand new P2uned Xona turbo top mount kit for sale for a great price!!!
Thanks for the heads up. That's a fantastic price and I'd love to check out the Xona. I am still trying to figure out what to do about cooling. That will dictate what turbo kit I'll go with. I'm thinking of running a Front mount intercooler with a regular intake manifold. Need to see if it's feasible and not a pain in the ass.

Matt at Insomnia told me about your accident, so sorry to hear. I am glad to see that you're back. I learned a lot from the documentation of build #1. I can only imagine getting hit by someone in one place, and its Capital Blvrd in Raleigh! Anyways, welcome back. I am excited to see what comes next.

The first part of my build will focus solely on wheels/brakes/suspension. This is my current plan:

WHEELS
Right now I'm working to have some bespoke 19" 2 piece wheels created. It will be a thick 5 spoke design. I just can't pull myself away from having 5 spokes. I'll try to add a bit of soul to it so it doesn't look like another Work Meister or SSR Professor.

Measurements are 19x9.5 ET+19 for the front and 19x11 ET+38 for the rear. Tires will be Sport Cup 2s in 265/35 and 315/30.

This is the secret sauce formula for perfect flush fitment without rubbing under full load + maximum turning angle.

BRAKES
I've also been talking to a APG rep for brakes. I'm looking at 8 piston front with a 365mm rotor and 6 piston rear with a 356mm rotor.

SUSPENSION
Reached out to SPL to help me put together a kit specifically for the streets.

As for coilovers, I'm looking at the KW DDC instead of RSR Best-i Active this go around. I'm still doing some research.

BRACING
I'm looking at:
  • Sard front body damper
  • Sard rear body damper
  • HKS Trunk Brace (need something for my GoPro)
  • TRD Strut Brace (Trying to find it without the rear body damper. Seems like it comes together no matter what)
  • aFe Front Sway Bar
  • aFe Rear Sway Bar
  • CPM rear bottom brace (Keeping stock one)
  • CPM front member brace (Does nothing)
That should be about it for the handling/wheel setup.

I heard the cpm front member brace. If it's the front underside one, it is useless. @razorlab think he said it wasn't even screwed to anything structural.

Thanks for the heads up. Just read his post on it. I'm going to completely drop their products from my list.

I used to enjoy grabbing some Mogee tea and cruising capital back when I lived in raleigh ~2021/22.

I'd like to know the process for getting bespoke wheels... i've never thought of anything other than off the shelf offerings :hmm:

I don't want to recommend a company when I've never used their product. But once I get my set designed and in hand I'll post up information. Shouldn't be too long. Lead time is about 6 weeks. Whereas my SSR SP1s took 8 months.

I have semi-bespoke 2pc from BCForged (6 weeks to my door) on the Supra, and fully bespoke 3pc from GMR (5 weeks to my door) on my other car. The process was painless and fast in both cases, and not really any more expensive than a good set of wheels people are already buying for their Supra.

I'll never buy OTS wheels again. Especially ones with a long lead time. Just a waste.

@Mimosa For brakes, take a look at Ceika. I have a set on my other car and the customization+price couldn't be beat. Just a killer product and glad I gave them a chance.
