@ColonelAdama. So I realized my sport valve isn’t opening for my straight pipe side since I put the JB4 on. So I’ll probably rerun my logs for you with open exhaust when I can once I figure out that issue.

I was wondering why my cabin was so quiet again… lol

Wait wait wait. You chose to use a JB4 on a car that has a easily tunable DME and is way out of warranty? Wut?
I’d like to do it someday. But this was way cheaper at the time and easier. Now that I know, many people are doing it w/out major issues, I’d give it a go. Down the road….

Stay away from map 3
Great, so stay the fuck out of my thread then. Trying to help people here.
Appreciate your help broham! I think he meant me ;)
Why no Map 3? I’ve heard that before. Not even in town? Just stick to Map 2 or my custom Map 6, I’d assume. Maybe a stupid assumption, but was thinking Map 6 might be so aggressive that it may not be best to run all the time in town. That may be true for any of these Maps then (thinking out loud).

If you search for map 3 on this forum you’ll find a lot of horror stories. It’s just too much

typically the +6psi ask is a bit much under 5k rpm for the fueling so trims usually max out (because E30 is needed for clean timing). Its a better fit for the non-M40i b58s that run 3-4 less psi than ours factory.

You can probably get away with it if using 93+ octane booster. But generally people screw up their turbos because they are catless, don't tune WGDC stuff and then Map 3 just overboosts 26psi+. Throttle will save your engine but not your turbo.

Appreciate both of ya! Map 2 in town it is and the occasional Map 6 for those rare over boosting rubber burning moments I want to scare a passenger or myself ?

@ColonelAdama okay I got my valve open to run full straight pipes and Log. Here they are.

Let me know if you dont mind, if you see anything odd. Let me know if Map 2 still a no go on my 91 at 6k ft above sea level. 32 degrees today btw and 2nd couldnt grab tractions at all, little slippery lol

Yeah timing isn't super clean so I still wouldn't exceed Map 1. It will just have more timing corrections and rob any power from the extra boost.

Definitely worth it to get octane up. power capability is much higher.
Been trying to follow this thread, is it worth getting JB4 if you only have access to 91 octane? Have the tuning issues for the MT been ironed out? Thanks!

You'll definitely get a lot more midrange power. Top end is a little extra, but yeah 91 octane is pretty limiting. If you are stock DP, you can probably just run Map 1 on default settings V28 firmware.

I have a catted AA dp, currently with a JB plus, and unfortunately only access to 91 octane ?. Would a JB4 give any substantial gains?

prob not! I'd just stick with the JB+ unless you want to switch to E30.
