Appreciate it! Retain Log Grouping Settings is not turned on.

Also there is a newer firmware, BMW B58 GEN 3 SENT. I currently have BMW B58/B48/B38 Gen1/Gen2. Should I download & install the latest one before logging? Or would that loose my custom tune map 6
No, your engine is not a Gen 3. But BMS have released Gen 2 specific software recently as platform "158". So you can just do the newest version of that.

In case you've ever heard of JB4 blown turbo "Map 3" stories. Here's one I caught before it's blown:
https://datazap.me/u/coloneladama/log-1732311747?log=0&data=1-2-3-4-8-15-20

Catless + Jb4 without wastegate tuning is already a big NO.

Going to the most aggressive map that's not intended for 6 port cars with way too high JB4 WGDC? 28 psi and a turbo that won't be happy too much longer.

I don't run higher than ~24psi on stock turbo, and that is usually with meth injection.

I think this might be a special case where the igntion timing was absolute shit and skyrocketed the EGTs. Granted, this was due to more boost than the fuel could handle in the first place... but fixing duty biases would have only minorly helped.

Is there any point in getting the optional fuel sensor for $100 if I’m only using pump gas and not using E?

Does having it help tune for more power or safety?

i suppose if you regularly watch your trims and ignition timing, it would help you pre-emptively spot any anomalies after filling up so you can adjust your boost targets. If you don't already do that, then you wouldn't use that information anyway

Not a Corvette.

Agree with you, the ignition timing in that log is absolutely ass. The EGT's must be insane.

Also, 28 psi with 14.4 AFR is crazy town. Cylinder temp with that timing and AFR has to be bonkers.

right, my guess is that "map 3" isn't what kills stock turbos. it's people that run it without looking at a single log, creating crazy knock that pulls timing, which then burns up the turbine. the boost level itself is likely fine for the turbo, as long as everything else is fine.

I might be a bit late on this, but I have been self-tuning and I was wondering if this log is good.

This was done on 2.0 Supra (not too much hate I am 17 yr)

Map 2 Wastegate Tune log:
https://datazap.me/u/kinahle/log-1732399856?log=0&data=1-4&solo=8

Map 6 Custom Tune log:
https://datazap.me/u/kinahle/log-1732398518?log=0&data=4-9-18&solo=4-9-18&zoom=0-11&mark=7
I need some guidance on this map 6 log, I know its shit, the AFR spikes up way to high and I set Fuel Open Loop to 60 to compensate but it still runs way to lean.

the map 6 log isn't really usable. you're feathering the pedal and there's too much closure. do a 3/4 gear pull from 2k to redline. the jb4 isnt activating for half the log because your foot isn't all the way down.

yeah i forgot to mention that, when i do a WOT it feels unstable. What parameter corresponds with AFR? i am trying to adjust for more stablized afr since its consistently above 12.0.

btw this only applies for my map 6 settings, WOT is fine for map 2.

It is an add-on to the harness and actually requires a new JB4 board too.

Yes it works, I recommend P158 firmware Version 26 with it. I have one and a few customer cars now with it.
I'm looking to purchase my JB4 with these black Friday sales coming up. Is there any way to know if I'm buying one with the new board or the old board?

anyone can update to it, just be aware that Map 4 and 5 change to higher boost. Haven't tested that yet
Should I still change the ff/wastegate adaption back down to 25 it’s set to 50 when I flashed the new firmware. I wanted to try out map 4 and 5 and see if they’re any better.

On the Burger Tuning website, under JB4 tuner for Toyota Supra, it has the fuel pressure sensor as an add-on for $100. If you don’t add it, I assume you’ll be purchasing the old board.

Thanks. Found it on the Burger site. Surprised it's not in the 1FastSupra site I was looking on for their black Friday sale.

This may be a dumb question, but what is sufficient for a log? Would a 2nd gear pull be good enough? Or would you want a higher gear like 3rd or 4th? Starting from what RPM? TIA
