I think I can speak for most Supra owners when I say the JBL system is… underwhelming at best. After almost two years of ownership, I’m finally ready to upgrade the audio setup. I initially considered the BAVSound system, but based on feedback from this forum, it doesn’t seem to be the most recommended route. I'm now leaning toward adding a dedicated subwoofer, which seems like the most practical improvement. I had another idea and wanted to see if anyone has explored this: swapping in the Harman Kardon speaker system from the G29 Z4. Has anyone attempted this retrofit?

My assumption is that BMW’s audio tuning for the HK system would be completely different from Toyota’s JBL tuning in the Supra. But if the hardware fits, is there any way to code in the Z4’s tuning profile to fully take advantage of the HK setup?

My advice would be to get a DSP amp tuned correctly before anything. A DSP tuned properly will dramatically improve the stock system. Then if you would like to take a step further, sub and/or aftermarket mids/tweets. I would put the money you were going to spend on stock Z4 speakers to an actual upgrade (DSP amp).

Thanks for the advice. I'll be looking into this path. I'm not much of an audio expert myself. Do you have any all-in-one DSP + amps that you recommend?

I believe some here have had success with the Mobridge K2. You will need an amp with MOST input. The JBL system uses MOST fiber to carry audio signals. Search the forum. There are a few good threads about the JBL system DSP upgrade.
