I see your point. Especially if you had many turbo cars before, 86 is definitely underwhelming in its general usage.Flat... they have no power here, at all. At the average of 3% hp loss per 1000ft, that engine loses 40hp at my altitude of 6500ft. 160hp car is not fast at all... but our market doesn’t mean shit to Toyota. That’s why I’m excited to see a turbo Toyota again! Really excited. I hope the turbo can be boosted up but able to stay in efficiency range for 6500 feet to make up for the lost power
I was happy with my 86 when I had it because it handled so well and I had plenty of backroads to enjoy around where I live.
Only reason why I sold my FR-S was because my commute became 90 mile drive each way and my FR-S just sat in my driveway for over a year without much usage. I supercharged it (With Harrop kit) and tried to use it as daily but it is not a good long freeway drive car even with stock suspension.
I likely wouldn’t be using the GR Supra for daily commute, but even if I did, it would fair much better than my supercharged FR-S for sure.
