Straight from the BMW website for the M240i x CURB WEIGHT - AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION (lbs) 3871

On the Toyota website they list the curb weight of the 2022 3.0 Premium at 3400 lbs.

Thats 471 more lbs.
I don’t know why The Car Guide lists it at 3721 since I can not trace where they found their info.

Nevertheless, my opinion still stands that the M240i will be a great Supra alternative with much more practicality with a smaller sacrifice in performance all while costing less to own

Some tests seeing 0-60/0-100kmph at 3.8 sec. Certainly not a slow machine!! Looking forward for the one we ordered. Its a proper sports coupe'.

they are very fast. AWD helps put the traction down and the ZF8 speed is a strong gearbox. I’m really excited for the upcomING M2.

Yes those functions are aggressive. The platform and new M2 will be juicy lol. There will be a 50th M edition. Get in line lol :)

Anyone else keeping an eye on the upcoming M2? Full reveal supposedly on 10/12.

I was watching it months ago but it dawned on me that the chances of me actually buying one for MSRP was slim to none, so I stopped paying attention to the M2 and switched my interest back to the Supra.

I feel like my odds of actually getting my preference filled for a Supra are ten to twenty times higher than me actually getting an M2 allocation for a reasonable price.

That’s a good point. I’m hoping that MSRP allocations are available (even if rare with a 1 year wait). People have been able to find G80s at MSRP with some due diligence.

I’m curious how much overhead the power train in the M2 has. We already know the S58 is capable of big numbers, but we don’t know what version of the ZF is going to be fitted into the M2.

Also, whether x-drive (with m-drive professional for RWD) will be available is another unknown.

Besides the looks (which may be better on the proper M car), I think it’s pretty promising.

Yes - no matter what the hassle we are ordering the M2. M4 order is now officially dead. I know the M4 has brutal power, I just cannot get over the mass of the thing. We have the M240 and the size is optimal for life. The M2 is just perfect for performance at 450ps.

With a JB4, you can be right back up to G8X specs and higher. (I’m curious if current versions of the S58 have physical differences or if power output is just tuning

Assuming the same ZF8 as the M3/M4, you wouldn’t even have to worry about the trans. They’re holding ridiculous amounts of hp/tq. It’s basically like getting a Supra pure stage 1 trans out of the box (along with the S58).

I know this is heresy, but I think this car looks a lot like the current generation Mustang when viewing it directly from the side. All things point to this being a fantastic car! Looking forward to seeing 'em on the road.
The M4 looks dangerously close to a mustang. It’s kind of the nature of a 2+2 car at this size that’s actually trying to make a usable back seat.

And I agree - I think that despite coming in higher priced than a Supra, the value proposition is really hard to ignore (and resale will likely be better). I’m just trying to like the looks more (just need to see some more modded m240s from this gen…).
