Because this has nothing to do with warranty it's about servicing and you obviously don't know the Australian consumer law. His powertrain warranty in it's entirety isn't voided by a tune. Also he has a right to be annoyed at an inclusive deal for scheduled maintenance with a capped price and then Toyota starts winding back the value of the deal. Bit like food manufacturers these days keeping the prices the same but reducing the size and or weight of the product.

Get your facts straight old man. Capped price servicing is literally what it is, the servicing price is capped. The consumables that are to be changed at the service is not set in the stone on the T&C and is deemed variable by the manufacturer at their discretion. A tune will void warranty on the whole powertrain, period.

If that dude has paid for a servicing package upfront, then he would have a case. But no, he didn't paid shit upfront and is just whinging that the sparkplugs not included at the servicing point. Guess what, don't like it then leave. Don't tell me he bought a Supra because it has capped price servicing with spark plugs included at a 24m service and now he feels cheated into buying a Supra because it aint so.

So are you an Aussie? do you know Australian consumer law?
Here's a direct quote from Toyota Australias website on capped price servicing.

"We’ll give you an upfront capped price on your car’s servicing needs with no hidden costs. This includes the cost of parts and top-ups that need repairing or replacing, saving you on unexpected charges".
And here's the Terms and conditions"...dude :thumbsup:

@BMWAF you'll notice in paragraph 10 "Servicing inclusions" this

"A service performed on an eligible vehicle under the Program includes: i. All items listed in the service schedule (available from http:// www.toyota.com.au/owners/service or set out in the Warranty and Service Book for the relevant vehicle;
The OR is important. It means whatever is in the service book for your car at the date of purchase. Toyota can bugger about removing items at a later date and change the booklet details but that's an issue for other later build date customers. Your booklet says plugs at 24Klm so thats what the fixed price servicing contract reflects at the purchase date. Under Australin contract law a contract variance cannot disadvantage the customer.

Yeah. The problem is fighting for this in practice is going to be a massive pain in the ass. I did call Toyota Australia and made a complaint about it but they were as useless as always. I stand by what I said: The Toyota bit is literally the worst thing about these cars. If this was a BRZ/86 situation, would anyone have actually bought the Supra over the BMW twin?

And no, the Z4 isn't the twin, as it's missing a roof and costs more than a third more.

Yea I hear you but sometimes it's just a matter of lodging a claim with consumer affairs Victoria and the hassle of a dispute resolution process makes them fold. You make it more expensive for them in time and effort to go through the process than it's worth for the costs involved.
Problem is these days are rights and conditions are being eroded everywhere and it's done in tiny incremental pieces that go almost unnoticed until you wake up one day and think shite what's happened. Too late then I'm afraid. So fighting this stuff where possible is important. Around my area speed limits are slowly being wound back from 80kph to 60kph in a LOT of places. Inch by inch until eventually driving will become totally boring.
Same with new car nanny stuff.

Seems old man like you have comprehension issue

"This includes the cost of parts and top-ups that need repairing or replacing"...OK, please tell me why the spark plugs need to be replaced" at 24 months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In Australia, BMW’s factory schedule for the Z4 (with the same B58 engine) spark plug replacement is 6 years or at 60,000 km.

That sentence in Toyota's T&C literally throws your case out like a little maggot.
