YTD 1,375? With 500 of those 2023s being A91-MTs, and more than half of that 875 remainder being AT... that would actually make non-A91 MTs more rare than the special edition, by quite a bit.
You'd probably need to add '22 Oct/Nov/Dec for MY23. Nitro Yellow MT is probably more rare than CU Later.

Memories of the prior gen Supra languishing on dealer lots may still be fresh on the minds of Toyota executives. I think they're much more inclined to keep orders right where they need to be so that doesn't happen again. Remember this is the company which pumps out a new Camry every few minutes.
Toyota already said they want to make "one too few" GR Corollas, so I'm sure that's the same strategy for the Supra. Heck it's over a year long wait for a Sienna.

I can't imagine how much more fun (and peaceful) our family trips would have been, had we had a modern Sienna or KIA Carnival. My main source of entertainment back then (mid 90s) was antagonizing my two sisters :stirthepot:

My parents had a conversion van - YOU COULD WATCH VHS TAPES ON A CRT TV IN BETWEEN THE FRONT SEATS!

“Toyota's global operating profit margin rose to 10.6% in the latest quarter but is only 3% in North America”

I wonder if this profit margin discrepancy is similar to the Supra and the reason for dramatically lower USA sales numbers versus last year or if overall global production of the Supra is just down.

Both canada and the US have had port issues. Issues with unions and stuff. Lots of dealers are still having troubles getting cars to buyers.

Looks like there was a slight increase for September. Numbers are still terrible, however.

The most important thing to keep in mind with these numbers, is that they don't clearly indicate how many of each MODEL YEAR vehicles were sold, so one has to try to extrapolate that data by knowing the approximate overlap of when each model year units became available and/or were delivered to customers.

So I went ahead and did just that, and these numbers are by no means concrete, but they should be fairly close for illustrative purposes.

Approximate total sales for each MODEL YEAR:

MY2020 --- 5,690
MY2021* --- 8,246
MY2022* --- 5,072
MY2023* --- 3,642

*includes 2.0 models

Just imagine if it was a 80-100k Supra built by Toyota with a new type 3JZ motor? Sales would be about 1/3rd or less of what's sold.

It’s crazy because I personally know people that would buy this car in a hearbeat 💓 if they could find one. Buddy lives in Miami and looking for a Blue 6 speed with tan interior. There lies the problem. If you add two variables you’re looking for, you’re almost screwed finding it 😞

Wait until we get colour breakdowns for the manuals and we’ll have red manual owners talking one of one like Corvette guys!
