The amount of Supras vs all the other Toyotas makes even a full engine replacement a drop in the bucket for them. For large corporations, it's all about the percentages.Forgive my ignorance, but, wouldn't it be in Toyota's favor to issue a TAS, TSB, recall or whatever to replace this plastic pump at a fraction of the cost and labor rather than waiting for it to fail and having to replace the entire engine when it goes at a might higher cost?![]()
Also, the oil pumps fail operation is to higher oil pressure, so unless the cracked or broken plastic is catastrophic, then engine failures *should* be pretty small.
