I would wait for for the "Three Way" version code named Menage.I would wait a bit. Who knows, maybe a revised 3.5TT engine might be in the works by GR…one with “Two Way Twin Turbo” badging.

Don't we already know that's not the case?Get the 2022, hopefully they updated the motor alittle bit....
Agreed, Tada was very clear that the sports car should be an inline 6. That was the primary driver for the BMW relationship as Toyota did not have an inline 6 and it would have cost hundreds of millions of dollars just to develop and manufacture one.
It would be really cool if the Supra got the S58 that is in the M3/M4
Dont I know it, within 2 weeks, I bought a 2021 Supra which is locked, and a 2021 BMW X4M (which has the S58) and is also lockedNo point in have the S58 since it can’t be unlocked. The 2020 unlocked ECU and a few 2021 with the early unlockable ECUs are what you should be going for. Supra isn’t that fun if the performance can’t be extensively modified. The stock power level and even the jb4 power increase gets old quick.
UhhhhhIf I am correct Toyota will get the B58 when BMW moves to the next motor (if there is one); probably when the 3 Series LCI happens in the 2023 MY.
I don’t plan to tune and add bolt on mods and corn juice and or meth for along time if ever. Want to keep my warranty. I guess if your primary motive is the "HP" war, then so be it. Problem is, there will always be more somewhere else.....Had my Supra for little over 2 months and just under 3K miles. hasn't been a moment where I didn't get a smile or two, or 3, etc. when getting behind the wheel. Have a ten mile long two lane road that I take from time to time on the way to work and there are sections of snake curves and single curves with 35mph posted(taken at 50+ mind you) and a straight section in which I can get the Supra up to 3-digit speeds before the next curve comes up. The car just hunkers down and asks for the next input from the gas or brakes .....haven't driven anything like it up to this point.Supra isn’t that fun if the performance can’t be extensively modified.
The platform is too easy to make massive power with to keep stock. My recently acquired E50 catless tune will decimate a stock Supra. Why wouldn’t I want to upgrade it if I can? This is a tuner car. I’m taking full advantage of its capabilities.I guess if your primary motive is the "HP" war, then so be it. Based upon my 3.0 test drive, there are sections of this road that would have your butt puckered unless your last name ended in "Hamilton or Verstappen". The 2.0 shines here and may not win the "stoplight to stoplight" wars with the Scatpacks and Mustang GT's but the snake curves would have the Scatpack going into one of the horse farm fences and the Mustang would not see the Supra until the short straight comes up and had to play "catch up".....Awesome car!!!

I don't street race. Had a good friend lost his license, go to jail, and lost his job because of it. Hence why I am focused on a track car where you don't worry about those things. There will always be a faster car. I appreciate modding and tuning, have done it lots of times, but there is something to be said for having a stock car that you have zero headaches with if there is a major warranty issue. There is a shop very close to me that tunes lots of 1000hp+ GTR's. Honestly if I wanted the fastest street car I would go that direction because of AWD. Supra is going to always be traction limited as you add horsepower for the street. The platform is too easy to make massive power with to keep stock. So you assume that I’m a peasant who works at a supermarket so I have nothing to lose or something lol? I don’t street race either. Me and other Supra drivers rent out a drag strip when we want to have fun. My local shop has at least 4 GTRS, corvettes, Cadillac’s and 911 turbos with over 1000hp each. It’s nothing new to me. I considered the RS3 in my choices for a sports car as well as the LC 500 and 911 as well. LC 500 is too slow for what you pay for and modifications are limited. 911 has no personality especially the exhaust. I did not get an RS3 instead of Supra because the RS3 looks like an a3 and doesn’t elicit the kind of emotions that the Supra does especially in the ultra limited refraction color. RS3 five cylinder turbo is unique but body style is too common and cramped as well as manual driver seat adjustment(foolish for a 60k car). This was an emotional purchase for me and my 4th car currently. The Supra is in no way practical and serves zero logical purpose for any person especially people who have multiple other vehicles. If you’re worried about warranty, you bought the wrong car. 3 year/36k mile basic and 5 year/60k mile powertrain warranty won’t save you from the plastic fantastic engine from bmw. I’m swapping out the plastic parts for metal ones that the vast Supra aftermarket has to offer. I don’t care about AWD because of McLaren had the same mindset as you, they wouldn’t exist today. Traction limits are not going to stop me from building my motor and entire drivetrain. It’s called ambition. Some people have it. Others don’t. Some take the easy way out. Others like the challenge in front of them. GT-R has no place in my driveway. It’s old, looks bland and very common now. Whatever traction it may have, it lacks in looks and interior. You buy a sports car for emotion and it’s performance capabilities, not warranty and AWD. Like I said to the troll Axix23, don’t be upset when a tuned Supra takes you for a ride to gapplebees. The potential is there but the driver is the handicap.I don't street race. Had a good friend lost his license, go to jail, and lost his job because of it.
