Is it worth to remove it during a track weekend to improve cooling or does it have a role in preventing heat soaking and it should stay

I remove mine for autocross. When opening the hood between runs to help keep temps down it won’t (or shouldn’t) trap hot air. Does it make a difference? Maybe? Or probably not but it looks like it should. I have no evidence though and I may be completely wasting my time. ?‍♂

I think it would improve cooling. I don't have any evidence though.

I will say that my VN, I removed the engine cover, and the oil temps do drop 5-10 degrees.
