what brand is the aftermarket glass? The oem Pilkington is so soft.

yea no kidding. ive done 2 oem's in 2 years. if i crack it i might try the aftermarket next go around lol. insurance covers it once a year i think

My oem one cracked within the first 3 months of buying the car. New one is a Fuyao and over a year old now. Just got to take it back in for this. Satellite for me too.

Just got a quote for a local guy to do it.... He is saying $450 to replace and $250 to calibrate lane assist. Seems VERY cheap. Thoughts?

I'm fine with non oem I suppose. The oem cracked within a year. I plan to put protective over the top of it anyways....

~ I actually don't drive my car in the weather so I've not used them. I worried about that as well but they say the film will not scratch with wiper usage.

I can’t recall which brand I have. I was told to try and not use the wipers. However, with what little miles I have on mine and forgetting not to use them, they’ve been fine. A buddy that did it owns a detail shop. You have to clean it with something called waterless wash. Thus, too much of a pain in the ass for most of his customers. I was the guinea pig for him and the film company = free. This year he wants to try an easier to install film and new manufacturer that claims it‘s better lol (typical).

But most importantly, the film works. No more cracked windshields.

Mine was free only because I know a guy, who knows a guy… but I’ll have to ask that guy, since mine is getting a bit nicked up. It’s time for a new one

That chip spread pretty quickly. Once the crack has gone in both directions and the repair did not hold, replacement seems like the better option. I’d make sure whoever handles the charlotte auto glass job can also deal with the camera calibration, since that seems to be one of the main concerns with the Supra. Did you get any prices for the replacement yet?
