Fatory LC uses the "traction mode" where it's optimized to only allow small tire slip when going straight

It does feel like it cuts power just to get the traction back.
Factory LC is hot garbage. You're better off foot braking the car yourself and not engaging the factory launch control. Also, I thought the car needed to be in "Sport Traction" mode to even use the factory launch control. I would just turn VSC off completely if you're serious about trying to launch the car. just be ready to counter steer lol.

Factory LC is hot garbage. You're better off foot braking the car yourself and not engaging the factor launch control. Unless xHP requires you to use the factory launch control with their service?
Factory LC is garbage, that is why I am exprimenting to see if I can make it anything useful. You can only engage LC from first gear unfortuntely right now until we see XHP work directly with ECUTEK or something so they can communicate back and forth from TCU to ECU.

I have been playing with the custom launch control settings that only take affect when using the factory LC from 1st gear dig. I think I will allow more slip after launch to prevent what feels like TC cutting power just after second gear shift. In the end I will need to borrow a draggy and test the modified factory LC against a manual second gear launch to get an apples to apples comparison.

I'm quite impressed at the difference in quality on launch just with small tweaks. Before I would launch with factory LC and it would just do a massive first gear burnout before shifting at red-line and hooking in second after some time spinning.

I have a Pure STG1 tranny that has always had a harsh/laggy upshift since install for 1>2 and 2>3. Hoping this can maybe help remedy or allow a tuner to adjust.

Nothing has felt as fast to me though compared to a good launch from second gear in manual mode, with the TC fully enabled...

You mean buy high traction tires. The 4SPS are decent tires but still slip on modded cars. ?

I said what I said. :p But yeah, you're right. sticky tires is what OP is after.

Hi guys,

I’ve actually never posted here before so my words might not hold weight but I own a FBO A90 and a FBO F30. A lot of my experience is balanced between the track, canyons, and daily pushing BMW motors.

I have personal experience seeing xHP applied to an f30 with a b58 that was aggressively driven and used as a daily for years. What I can tell you is this:

  • It is a mod that brought the car to life similar to what was experienced ecu tuning the b58.
  • We had 0 transmission problems on the f30 and didn’t hear of any friends having much either.
  • It endured a beating too - I’m talking high speed runs, canyon runs at high alt, driving it hard in reg city driving. The “reliable” upgraded hpfp gave problems before this did.

While this flash is seemingly new due to the recent release and variances in the zf trans that is offered in the BMW and Toyota applications, the guys at xHP have been reliably doing this for years. They could have rolled this out right away but took two years after the release of the car to do so.

I’m flashing my Supra this wknd and will let you know my immediate findings, but I’m pretty confident based on my experience and their track record so far.
I finally flashed map 3 after having to go pick up an orange mhd adapter. Here are my thoughts (my car is FBO, e30 tune, with sport+ unlocked per ref):
  • Shifts are immediate. IMMEDIATE. While the stock set up is significantly faster than most transmissions, I could notice a delay that made the car feel less like a sports car. This changed that completely.
  • M Blips feel and sound great. I set the 3->2 percentage at -15% to help with the prob most are experiencing
  • Car is actually able to deliver the power. The E30 map was causing the car to struggle with all the torque in the higher rpms.
  • Acceleration contrast feels very similar to going from untuned to tuned.
I’m going to play around with the m blip map to see what percentages give the best feel.

So I flashed my car yesterday, and I'm having some trouble trying to make the changes I wanted to make. I'm trying to adjust the shift points and either I'm not understanding the effects or it's not working correctly. Initially, I played around with some custom values but wasn't seeing the effects I expected. Then I started playing with the presets and again I can't seem to tell any difference. Going from Sportive+ to Relaxed+ in sport mode, my shift points seem to be the same. Is there some minimum thottle input needed to see these changes? I was testing with very light throttle just going from 0mph to 40mph and both seemed to shift at the same exact point, so I feel like I'm missing something.

There is a certain stretch of road that I drive often, travelling 40mph. In sport mode, the car shifts at 3k rpm, but at 40mph I'm sitting around 2800rpm and I feel like it sounds like I need to shift to 5th. Usually I just use manual mode and shift up to 5th, but I'd love to change the shift point so that it would do it on it's own in auto mode. Is this something I should be able to change? Really feel like I'm missing something stupid here, or I simply don't understand what this adjustment is meant to change.
Check the app for an update. They released another update to allow the custom settings to work because before it wasn’t for some cars.

Bmw guys wouldn’t even use the LC because they still would spin a lot. Foot break launch i think will always be superior.

Factory launch control on all platforms is garbage (Tesla excluded, I suppose).

I emailed support yesterday and they requested logs. They said it will be fixed in the next update. :)

I just purchased the xHP suite from Visconti and I'm excited to get my hands on it. For those of you have already installed it, if there's any kind of issues that I run into, is there a way to back up the flash to the factory transmission tune like there is with most other tuning softwares?
