Ah okay. Well, no need to do that just to bleed the brakes.
I thought the same. Was going to check the manual to see if it was part of the official Toyota procedure but am lazy and full of turkey and ham.

Someone gets it. However, I think @Rocksandblues is trying to say that you end up riding on the bump stops easier if the suspension has less travel, and it’s way more apparent on big tracks. Lowering the car too much has less to do with sensors and ABS than proper handling. Not sure what you guys that are getting abs, steering and other errors are doing to your poor cars while installing. I had zero issues after installing coil overs, SPL arms, sway bar, etc. my front is a tad lower than .5” and my rear is almost exact .5 lower.

Somebody also stated a seat making a huge difference and I 100% agree. Honestly, next to my MCS coil overs, the seat was the best upgrade.

I might have made my lengthy S post last night after four beers, so ignore it ??
Your car has a perfect stance not slammed ?

You think the aero available for our car would make a big difference at 450hp Supra speeds around most tracks?
yes. Until I get real suspension and can run wider tires I believe aero will help me go through corners faster

aero will allow me to run higher hp also

I have to let off gas a little at the kink on front stretch of VIRat 143 for example. I am at limit of sliding off left. Same w turn 10 at VIR and 10 at Summit main.

i understand the purpose of a good ride height even if I didn’t express it completely. My car is pretty fast but handles like a go-cart too much .

Interesting. I'll be very interested to know if this logic pans out for you. I'm holding off on doing anything aero-related until I read some more stories like yours... people who know the track, know how fast they can go around it, and how specific changes impacts that. And not people trying to sell aero kit.

I'll be setting a baseline at NCM next season so I want to do that before investing in all of the parts (probably Verus which seems to be the standout). I would love to invite myself to come drive VIR with you next season. It's about a day tow away and I'd be interested to have you drive my car around it to see how our setups compare, which are both geared toward the track and not huge HP builds.

Next time you need the brakes bled, Winning Formula up in Louisville deals with mine and a couple other friends supras and never have an issue with any electronics. Worth making the fairly short drive from Lex.

Also, hit me up whenever you’re planning on NCM next year, I’ll be down there quite a bit.

So with your chassis code, does your car let you downshift into 2nd and 1st in manual mode? With the chassis code I'm getting, mine does not. I don't think it's related to the other safety system codes being thrown... but who knows...
Mine is just a steering angle sensor, post track alignment and the alignment shop I went to uses snap on, which was unable to do the reset needed. We’re thinking that sensor triggers a lot more, shutting down similar “protective” functions, or so it seems. I’ve got an appointment with BMW and Toyota this week.

Edit: So weird….. now that you mention it. 3 and up, no problem. But it will downshift (or upshift) in manual mode, while going slow. I never tried downshifting into 2nd gear on track and didn’t notice it before. ??‍♂

Hey fellas, I would love to hear what you did to your car suspension wise and what made it feel better?

Obviously alignment... But has anyone tried Swaybar combinations (front only or Rear or both) or even bushings etc! (suspension choices too)

Thanks!
What's your use case? For a dedicated track car, I'd say a good set of coilovers. For a street car, I guess I'd say sway bars. But a proper set of tires should come ahead of everything.

Good that you are doing research. There is finally enough track-use info to become useful. Jackie pretty much seems to have it all figured out for anyone wanting to get that serious. I'll be following his checklist LOL. IF you are going the track route.

For street: I wouldn't do anything that didn't add to comfort. IMO no need for things that don't help with street driving such as sway bars, fancy coilovers, control arms, etc. unless you just want to have some fancy parts and have fun putting them on. None of that helps with driving on the street and while the car may feel slightly different, it's not helping anything.

Just be sure you are doing what is right for the car. I.E. I see that some people seem to throw parts at cars out of habit, while that is obviously not the best way to go about things. For example: One of my cars has a fairly stiff sway bar in the rear but OEM up front because it's the best way to work the car. That may not be right for a Supra. Etc, etc.

All just my opinion, of course. I build cars differently, so usually go against the grain and have unpopular views LOL. I come from the camp that doesn't buy a part for my car unless it makes an improvement. Yeah.. it's kinda boring, though. You should see how plain they look ?
