I know the delta is what's important but 424 whp would be pretty muted gains on a 2021 that clocks in around 370-380 whp stock.

hmmm yeah that does kind of suck. I don't think I'm ever going to run anything other than 91 gas. So my gains would be topped off at like 420. lol. Not really worth it I guess. Hopefully they can crack the ECU.

This thing can be a monster with a upgraded turbo and a proper tune.

Any tuners here brave / stupid enough to attempt to re-code a b58 ECU? If someone thinks it’s do-able, willing to try, let me know, could get one pre 6/20 from eBay. I’m doing jb4 for now but I reaaaallly wanted a pure turbo and without a legitimate tune available to 2021 owners, kind of a bummer.

If you have an A90 (or A91 with a pre-lock firmware date), stay away from the dealers until an unlock is available. Even bringing in your car for oil changes can get a “recommended” reflash during the visit.

coming up on half a year soon. this is sad :(
I browse all the BMW forums and this is only really being talked about on the other B58 forums for the most part so far. I know the tuning community only makes up a portion of the overall owner community but still, interesting that there's only a handful of relevant threads out there about this subject. I imagine there's still plenty of people who don't know this, shiny new G82 M3/M4 owners are going to have a rude awakening.

If anyone is interested I am going to be installing the AC Schnitzer performance upgrade on my car next week. The tune is not posted on the site but it’s for the M440i engine with 382hp. Not exactly sure what the dyno numbers will be but the graph that they sent me from AC Schnitzer was showing 50hp gains on a M440xi with all wheel drive. I’m thinking it should give about 65hp with RWD for the Supra. Oh, and it’s not cheap but I figured it’s the only true safe option out there. I’ll update you guys after I install and let you know. I will also be adding the Remus exhaust next week. When I get a chance I’ll do a dyno and get exact figures. Thinking somewhere around 450whp and 500 crank hp

I am honestly considering just going the JB4 route with a downpipe for now and seeing how things shake out.

Is it possible for anyone to share how to check the date on the ECU itself? The car has a 7/20 build date but curious if my ECU predates the 6/20 cut-off. I went through this thread and did not see the instructions.

My ECU was 6/21/20 and it was not able to be bench unlocked.

Yes. I tell my dealer not to plug into the ECU. You can put tape over it too.

However, if your ECU is currently unlocked the worst that could happen is it would need to be bench unlocked. In other words, you don’t need to be concerned that your ECU will become unlockable like the 6/20/20 and newer A91s.

Just FYI for the guys going piggyback and concerned about CEL. The downpipe sold on Supra store has the O2 sensor false tubes so they aren’t actually exposed to the uncatted exhaust fumes. This is the same kind of downpipe I ran on my last Evo to avoid CEL and the car ran great for 6 yrs before I sold it.
Which downpipe they have mini cats and extension tunes, function werks came out with a dp with a built in one. I ordered it they have gone 7k no cel

New Supra owner. My Supra is an 11/20 build date so probably locked ECU. Did we come to any conclusion that with a locked ECU you cannot access the body domain controller portion of BimmerCode? Was hoping to get auto seat heating and change the side mirror reverse angle. Waiting for my OBDLink MX+ to come from Amazon before I try but would like to have expectations set before I get it.
