If Toyota issues a TSB about it can you still persue lemon law? Or do they make you follow the TSB even if car goes in multiple times against it?I remember when I was about to hit 3600 miles on the car and thought I was in the clear... Then the very next day my car came up with the issue.
For those going down the lemon law route, make sure to read your state law. Every state varies. Try to go through Toyota's dispute resolution program. If they fail to give you a reasonable answer, then either go through the BBB or get a private attorney. Make sure to document everything and include date stamps. Any time the car goes into the shop document it. I had to do this with a 2013 Genesis 3.8 with its crappy manual transmission.
In NC you can pursue the lemon law 24 months to 24,000 miles. Whichever comes first. If the documentation shows everything happened within that time frame, then you're still fine if you go over the time/mileage. Some states also protect people who have a lease.
DO NOT do any work on the car yourself. Don't even tell then that you filled the car up with oil. They will use that against you.
As a matter of fact, if you're on here posting about topping off your oil I'd delete/edit the post right now.
