11.5. - Thill East - Finally got a chance to duke it out a bit with my buddies at Thill.

Didn't really change too much on the car other than adding the new version of the spage end plates and the KMP steering wheel. Not sure if the end plates made that much of a difference or I'm just getting used to the platform but the car feels more planted. lol.

Ended up breaking my own pb but not by much. There was still a ton of traffic and by the time it kind of cleared up, I was honestly super exhausted.

Switched my recording gear from my aim smartycam to a Gopro and got a nasty reminder that the batteries don't really last that long. So.... long story short, I got one recording of the first session of the day. lol.

Anyways, here's a video of that session. I was chasing my friend ( who usually drives my Supra). We weren't even really pushing it that hard here and ended up with sub 2's. Insane.

No wonder you were tired, things seemed a little violent in the cockpit. I noticed you could reel in your buddy at will.

haha violent?

Just to give a bit of context but my buddy is way faster driver than me. He's actually my friend that has been driving my Supra this year while his s2k was down. In this particular session, he was still breaking in his new diff. In short, I don't think I could reel him in so easily if he was actually pushing. haha.

I meant violent from all the thrashing about, even that display kept falling down.

Considering you guys weren’t going all out you passed a fair anount of fast cars. You two are a pair of speedsters.

haha. Yeah. You get tossed around a bit. I've been working to get another seat installed (one that fits my profile slightly better) but due to supply chain issues, it's been infinitely delayed.

As for the garmin falling down, it was just because I forgot to tighten the damn thing.

My buddy is no joke. It wasn't long ago that it was thought to be impossible to do sub 2's. Nowadays, even just cruising, we were doing 58's.

Man, thank you for that. I could watch that all day. It seemed like an S2000 Festival ? Your friend seems to turn in a little bit later and aggressively at least in some corners. What do you think? You both looked pretty calm and relaxed out there, like you were driving to Whole Foods ?

haha. There was definitely A LOT of S2k's out there that day. Not surprising because that car is a great platform to be tracking on.

He's definitely able to turn more aggressively than me but I think there's a lot of factors at play here. For one, his car is probably ~400 lbs lighter than mine. Another is the fact that we still dialed in a bit more understeer into my car, mainly to account for my newbiness, so our handling isn't as sharp. And finally, he's just a much better driver than I am. lol.

Yeah. We definitely weren't pushing it as hard as we usually do. It was just fun to finally be able to chase him in his s2k.
