Well the time has come to park the Supra for another Ohio winter.

Prior to storing the car I wanted to complete a full detail and cleaning. I know I’m over the top (prior owner of an auto detailing business). Therapeutic to me.

Power washed the engine, wheel wells, wash, wax, tire rotation, cleaning and waxing of the wheels, detailing of the wheel wells and underside and full interior cleaning. Keep in mind I do drive the car in the rain. Now sitting at 6,700 miles.

The car was parked with a full tank of gas and placed on Flatstopper tire pads and covered.

Thought I’d share some progression photos.

What do you use for your wheel wells?
~ I just use the soap and rinse setting at the quarter diy carwash (adequate pressure and a flexible wand is key).

Then when the wheels are off I use a quick detailer (Chemical Guys V07 Hybrid Spray) and hand wipe the areas with a microfiber towel. No dressing used on the plastic areas.

~ Yes I do so at one of the diy quarter car washes in town (hot soap & water along with good pressure). I wash the engine at least once a month along with the underside of the hood. No issue are created with the soap or water.

No degreaser or cleaners are necessary.

I also don’t recommend spraying it down with tire dressing either (just promotes dust collection). I prefer the clean natural state.

Looks amazing, great job on the detailing!

Mine looks identical except on jack stands. I parked hood first so I can turn it on during the winter and cycle the drivetrain.

How cold does the interior of your garage get in the winter?

EDIT: Make sure the Parking Brake IS NOT engaged, and the tire pressure is set to 43 PSI

Just out of curiosity, why would you want to keep the parking brake off?

~ Thanks!

The garage is insulated but not heated. Drops to a low of 38 degrees in the garage at the coldest outdoor temps.

The tires are sitting at 45 lbs and the e-brake isn’t set.

All good & thanks again! ?

I have a feeling that it's because moisture can seize the e-brake shoes in place if the car isn't moved for quite a while..? It's metal composite on metal contact i think.. idk, that's my perspective... the car is already on flatstoppers so it wouldn't roll unless someone pushed the car off it...
