Now comes the tricky part, do people who asked for manual GET MANUAL?
I would. I want to retire my 30 year old Camry a bit as a daily/beater and would rather rag on something a bit newer. That gives me enough slack too to get around restoring that old car to pristine forever-car-condition. It may not be worth money, but it's valuable to me as a reliable, comfortable and sentimental object. As I only buy exceptional vehicles, I would actually shop for an MkV for this odd "upgrade", still giving the old lady a reason to exist (shopping bigger items, moving more than two people in comfort).

Toyota timed the Manual Supra well

i was thinking about it right now, and Toyota picked the 2023MY release date for a reason, it's the 30th anniversary of the MK4(sorry in advance for making you feel old, MK4 owners)
well played, Toyota

1. Where/when was it confirmed that 2023 would be the year they introduce a manual?
2. Why the hell would you want to neuter this car with a manual gearbox?

Its wishful thinking. Someone has been talking about a manual since the car was first released.

People started believing that if they say it enough times, it must come true

off topic, but I recognized your avatar from when I had my Golf R haha.

it's hearsay but for what little it's worth, having spoken with those who have an actual stake in changes that Toyota makes to their car line-ups, they recommended me to trade or sell my car now if i want to maximize value due to an upcoming announcement. even to me that means nothing until the market as spoken about it with their wallets...and there's enough used Supras that I see online now that I think max value has already slipped away.
