Today marks 1 year of ownership for me (approximately 13k miles), so I figured it would make sense to do a quick build log and some of my learnings with the car:
Installed parts/mods (no particular order):
There's been quite a lot of adventures I've had over the last year, and quite a lot I've learned. Some miscellaneous thoughts:

There's been quite a lot of adventures I've had over the last year, and quite a lot I've learned. Some miscellaneous thoughts:
- The car is a massive eye-catcher and conversation starter. Thumbs up from all sorts of car owners from BRZs to F12TDFs, shouts of: "Nice car!", "IS THAT A SUPRA?!?!" or "Rev it!" in the city, people who ask about it at: gas stations, red lights, grocery stores, and occasionally teenagers who want to race. It also gets a lot of love at car shows as well.
- the complimentary HPDE is 100% worth it. I'd highly recommend people redeem theirs before going all-in on a build, and really get a sense for how good this car is in stock form. There were a bunch of modded Mustangs and a Hellcat at my HPDE at Pacific, and the Supra was on them by turn 3 after the main straight.
- I took it on a 1500 mile road trip, and it was very comfortable for a sports car, and I was not expecting to get 33 mpg while cruising 80-90mph most of the way with a trunk full of luggage.
- it's crazy how much the traction control is doing to keep the car in check between hard launches, and giving the car a dab of extra throttle on a corner in the wet.
- Some cons though: A) the engine bay is unbelievably tight to work in, B) some parts could have been done with better quality, like the breather hose into the turbo inlet pipe and the emergency hatch release, which jammed my trunk shut, and the car could really use some wider tires, C) BMW is holding back some of the nice infotainment stuff: a more useful sport display would be nice, and Supra owners probably care more about G-forces than Z4 owners do, and it would be nice to have the latest iDrive.
