This shows what modules were updated in latest iStep. Engine, steering, rear diff etc so good chances it was corrected although I never experienced that issue.

I, at most, idle my vehicle for max 5 minutes before I start driving it.
And still after the latest ISTA update (see few posts back), I do not have the throttle hesitation anymore.

Just a side note: the mentioned update is an update that is newer than the brake recall one.

I did the update specifically because I heard rumors of the Z4 having it fixed by update.

So as far as I know it gets fixed with an update (S18T-22-03-535 and probably above) but to recoup for those not willing to update, there are some possible workarounds mentioned in this thread:
- Idle vehicle per manual instructions (15mins-ish)
- Traction Control Off
Where is "a few posts back" there's 23 pages in here.
Previous page (22).

Also. I drove the car for a few thousands kilometers since and can say the worst part seems to be fixed by the update for me.

I say worst, because I differentiate between 2 throttle hesitations.
1. The lesser annoying, Car creeps forward but quite quickly catches on you want to drive forwards.
2. The car does not respond for what seems 1-2 seconds to your input.

Number 2 is fixed for me.

Also, also. I feel #1 happens only when I really baby and grandpa-style drive the car the first few minutes.

Is that an OTA update? My throttle hesitation has not come back in almost 2 weeks. Fingers crossed.

Asking the real questions here: Did you have to redo all bimmercode stuff after this update?

Whaaaaat
That's the one thing I lost after the update. 😡
To everyone impacted by this, I just checked and it appears BimmerCode has an update to install. When you connect your OBD adapter and open the app it’ll ask you to perform the update. I now have the Roof Function module back.

That's fantastic! Thought we'd lost it for good. There have been a couple Bimmercode updates since then and none of them corrected this.

So far, both still sorted for me. I don't really drive baby & grandpa style though 😁, unless it's really wet out and tyres are cold.

So yeah, get the ilevel update, redo your bimmercodes, sorted, seemingly

Out of interest, how did you discover the rumour that this resolved the issue for Z4s?

Nice to have some extra proof it works! Thanks for sharing that with us!

About the z4 update. I don't remember exactly but I believe I read it somewhere on this forum.
