Did you all not watch the post-credits Nissan scene at the tail end of the video?! ?

I'm kind of surprised that you all dislike Mark so much. I think he's really funny most of the time, and a nice, approachable guy off camera. Do I agree with all of his opinions? Of course not, but we're car guys, and a fickle, often petty bunch to interact with.

At the end of all things, the Z is exactly what we knew it would be; mediocrity on wheels. But we have to be thankful it exists at all. Lastly, if we thought we were annoyed at the "nice BMW" comments, I can't imagine the torture new Z owners will endure when the world learns they spent $50-$70K on an undercooked, thinly-disguised turbo 370Z.

To be fair I don't think it is a bad car.

It's just a bad car for the price. It's a bad car when compared to other cars for a similar price.

The starting at 40k was very misleading. Most people didn't think the base would be so stripped and that the upgrade to the next trim would be so much.

I'm tired of hearing we should be thankful it exists at all. It's not a good enough car to make anyone else up their game or cheap enough to make them lower their prices. It took way too long, it's underwhelming and overpriced. If it flops, they'll see it as sports cars just aren't profitable we shouldn't make any more.

THIS 1000%

I'm sure it's not a bad car at all, and buyers are going to love theirs. Like you said, just hard for it to shine against what's out there in the segment.

Seems throtl's testing put it further apart from Savagegeese's posiyioning in comparison to the A91 and 86... oof.

Wow! Imagine putting on R compound tires and sway bars… Can’t believe the Supra is that high up there for under $60k stock ?. Point being, I don’t think you’d have to do a lot ($$$) and she could make the top 10 on that board. That’s a lot of starting point to work with compared to the Z.
I plan on tracking mine. So I’m biased for sure. Just goes to show we’re talking about two totally different cars. They should compare cars closer in performance (and price, if there is such a thing ?‍♂)

Perfectly said, sad but true.
Hopefully the GTR doesn't receive the same Tuesday Special treatment...

All you Supra fanbois are neglecting one thing: driver’s feel. :p
While I get the joke, I actually do agree with Mark's comment about riding on the car rather than in it. I don't know about the feel in comparison to the Z but, I do have heavy track experience with the BRZ/86 (modified to shit) and going from there straight into the GR Supra did feel like a bit down in that department. But the car is still good and that is the old argument of a stock car vs a cheaper car with 50 thousand dollars in it.

That being said I do think it is mostly a relatively easy fix. First off correcting the alignment and bump steer does wonders for the handling. The usual suspects such as sway bars, coils, and replacing the rubber bushings in the front all help tighten up the cars slop. All these things add in 'driver's feel.' I don't have much regard for the electric steering's feedback. It simply doesn't feel as good as an old-school manual or hydraulic rack when throwing the car around (IMO.) It isn't bad enough where I'd go problem hunting. I do feel that sport mode helps the steering quite a bit and by being able to electronically adjust the wheel, I wonder if more could be done via coding in the aftermarket in years to come.

As far as riding the rocket. Seats should easily fix this if you can get mounts that allow you to drop down into the car more. I've had this problem with a ton of car's I've had. Most recently with the EvoX. It takes some commitment and money but, is fixable. I hope once seating position is dropped down, it also helps the cockpit view out feel a bit bigger. Being on the tall side, having the roof line and bolstering obstruct my view doesn't do me any favors.

It is something I've held off on trying to fully rectify everything with my current car personally. So... a bit of armchair speculation overhere. If I get my next manual Supra I expect being able to row the gears will be enough to get me to go all-in.
