Not a fan of the top cover. But I can also see how maybe its portraying the hood/front end of the MKV Supra a bit.

I wonder if the production car will display any BMW stamps on the engine anywhere or components???

Hmm What AM I driving?
Sounding good, but I would want the option to turn off the liftoff/overrun exhaust crackles - they are likely to get tiresome in daily driving.
Correct me if I'm wrong but, I believe most modern BMW has an active exhaust that can be turned on and off. I hope that it makes it into the car just like you mentioned. I'm trying to remember if any Toyota products as of late have this exhaust feature...It's just coming up blank for me atm. Because if it's not on a Toyota product, and it's not something they got from BMW then we might be missing that factor and be stuck with one sound setting the entire time.

I'm also expecting to see BMW stamps everywhere, just like the 86 with the Subaru stamps.

The active exhaust isn't what makes the burbles/crackles, it's a byproduct of the engine management/tune.

Was hoping for something interesting but this is what I was worried about.

I wonder if this is an intentional / timed "leak"?
Idk, it was in a public place and there were clearly various people looking in and around it. Maybe they only lifted the hood once perhaps.

Yeah I'm not a fan of the cover either. BMW motors are ugly though, all black plastic and wiring harnesses haphazardly strewn everywhere.

As @Chikane mentioned, for sure we will see BMW stampings. All the separate components (like that DBW motor) are existing BMW parts catalogue items and are stamped with the BMW logo by their respective manufacturer. It would be an insanely large scale effort to ask the various different component manufacturers to retool their machines to also include a Toyota stamp, then of course that all has to be managed as separate part numbers, etc etc. As such, expect to see a lot of BMW crests.

I agree with this statement with the exception being the S54 motor.

While everyone is dissecting the engine components, I'll focus on the handling characteristics. I can't get over how little body roll the A90 has coming out of the apex.

To be honest, this car looks pretty damn quick. The Mk4 has handling far beyond what it is usually recognized for, but I think the A90 will embarrass it stock for stock out of the box (as it should).

Oh yeah, I guess I should have specified *modern* BMW motors. The older NA motors were nice looking, esp when you could see the ITBs/Runners and stuff.

Oh yeah, of that I have no doubt. An 86 with some decent tires will keep up with a Stock TT MKIV on many a circuit, just because of how underdamped the MKIVs were from the factory (age doesn't help ofc). If this car is even as good as an 86 in the handling department (and I'm fairly certain it will be far better considering the rigidity) with 150 more hp, I have no doubt it'll spank an MKIV.
