Ok… So I tried to explain everything y’all have been saying on the this thread, to convince my wife this car is just fugly. I didn’t even get to cost & weighs more. She‘s on BMW page trying to build one. I finally sent her a link to this thread and asked her to read it. She scanned through the pages quickly and nope, nada, nothing. She still loves it. ? It has the BMW name, is the smallest, has the best looks (in her opinion), and she can option it the way she wants… No options, and shows me the price for around $60k ?

I said the only thing you gain is a back seat. Which is not true but I started there, testing my waters. “That’s exactly what I want.“ Conversation over
You’re not alone.. but in a different way. My wife went weirdly the other direction. She fixated on Ferraris. Uhhh what? I was trying to convince her the Corvette C8 was a much better value (that we could actually afford haha) and she just said “it’s a fake Ferrari, why would you want a fake car”. She kept searching Ferraris and wanted to visit the local dealer (and do what exactly, idk lol - we can’t afford a Ferrari). After weeks she agreed to a C8 or cayman gts (not the gt4 - she hated the wing… yeah).

But I couldn’t stomach ridiculous ADM/used prices in Aug 22’ and convinced her the Supra was a better value (and it turns out the trunk was super important after we got our puppy (pictured).

Unfortunately, trends overtake actual performance nowadays. In Scottsdale, there are so many “enthusiasts” who wear Porsche gear (polo’s, fleeces, sunglasses, hats, watches, etc…) and will tell you everything about a Porsche (on paper)…yet most don't own a Porsche.

Brand marketing has overtaken true performance. If it makes you look cool and fit in a group, it will sell….regardless of its actual purpose (performance).

One advice I can give you as a married man….the happier she is (regardless of her buying decisions) the more toys you will be able to get and keep ??.

Nothing wrong with wearing Porsche stuff and not owning one. The Supra is my poor man’s 911.

I see the M2 the exact same way I saw the Supra when it was released. Looked weird AF and I thought, there's no way I would buy one. Two model years later I bought one. With the M2, I'm closer to an initial purchase than I was with the Supra. Saw one yesterday in person and it's not as bad as the pics make it appear.

I'm at the track once with each car I buy, so the M2 would win in my book on interior alone. Definitely can understand the weight to the track team here.

If Toyota would just upgrade the "infotainment" and stop acting like adding some color to the interior is a damn special edition, they would be perfect. Feels like a black hole at times...

The M2 would definitely HAVE to be sold at or below MSRP.

Here’s the best angle and color thus far…

The rear angle (bumper design) and monitor style dash are the disappointments to me.

Dude… why did you show it with the giant “wart” looking bumper accents ?. Remember Chris Bangle? And all the BMWs during his era were said to have Bangle bumpers. I think this will be the same. It’s a decent looking car but damn those bumper bumps looks like giant inflamed infections.

The interior. I love BMWs. Period. The stupid computer screen. What can you do. It’s just stuck on there in a new world that we live in. Imagine if they offered a real gauge & buttons option? I wonder how many people would buy it. I’d be all in!

I messaged them on Thursday and they didn’t even respond. Might have to call them tomorrow to see if it’s still there.
Ask for Larry Spencer. That's who I am dealing with. Pretty easy going and laid back with me.

M2 is likely a phenomenal car. I drove the last gen M2 comp on the track and it was arguably better than my MT. That being said, looks like regular traffic compared to the Supra ? The changes from the M240 are meh. I already have a boring daily, I want the least practical, wild looking weekend car. Definitely jealous of the S58 though.

It's not even the weight that turns me off from it. After driving the M5 Comp, I realized that BMW knows how to make a heavy car fast on track. It doesn't feel light, but the grip is ridiculous. People should definitely drive one before they whine about it.

Test drove an auto and manual M2 today and...they're really nice. Holds the weight really well, surprisingly. Power delivery is impressive and braking performance was nice.

I don't necessarily think the supra and m2 are comparable at face value, but for their individual niches, they're both great. I'm 100% considering picking one up as a more daily focused commuter alongside the supra.

Bad pic, but you can tell the size difference between the two pretty significantly.

True, there is nothing wrong with wearing Porsche stuff (or any brand at that). My point was that trendy brands (no matter where you slap the logo onto) will sell....even if it means slapping it on a shirt that costs $2 to make. Its all about the image.

M2 looks like the kid that’s been eating two lunches at school. That’s a heckn Chonk.
