Is cost/price on-topic here?

I was looking at the stat sheet for the new 3-series and it starts at 50k. Is it reasonable to assume the Supra i6 will start at that price if not slightly lower?

If I am going to spend that kind of money I would hope to have the options for performance improvements instead of all the granny electronic add-ons like lane keeping, parking assist, pre-collision, etc. Way too much fluff, even for a GT car, in the standard configuration!

Exactly. Not just BMW, all the Germans. Anyone who wants something complying with DIN standards have to rate their product at their worst. Very unlike of Gross standard of the old days which mostly meant no accessories, different carbs, headers and straight pipe for rating engines!

I'm not aware of their standard procedures for that matter. I had to study DIN for my thesis that's why i mentioned them. ;)

a guy over at clublexus has some info to share.

I'm glad some one finally asked about the Supra. From what I understand it will start in the low $40ks. We are making a big announcement at SEMA 2018. Their will be two BMW sourced motors I4 and I6 mated to a 8 Speed ZF Auto. It will be made in Austria. Double bubble roof, fixed rear wing spoiler, engine state of tune will be reminiscent of BMWs tune. I saw 355hp and 365 lb-ft for the i6. There will be nonfunctional air intake slits on the side just aft of the doors, but they aren't as terrible as the ones on the 4th gen Mustangs. It will go on sale next spring. LED headlights and taillights. Tablet style infotainment on the dashboard. No manual was talked about.

340hp in a +3400 lb parts bin car that had nothing innovative about it.

then... maybe. Just maybe they bump the power figures.

What a fuqing tease, Toyota.

Just end production of the A90 already.

No. I said +3400lbs. I am firm on it. Car is already a pig.

Add the extras and you'll understand why this car cant be 1500kg.
