Funny you say that. The supra was spotted testing with the new mini jcw
The JCW is getting the B48A20T1 which makes 300hp not the SULEV B46 in the Z4 (and probably Supra)

Is this "NEW" BMW straight six engine the Supra engine?

Quoted from the just-launched X3M/X4M BMW website

"The newly-developed straight six-cylinder engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology and high speed characteristics is also one of the technological highlights of the two high-performance models"

Thats one looooooong rear end ratio. I wonder if there will be aftermarket solutions on launch to shorten that up a bit.

Thats typical with BMW as they want a slower driveshaft speed.

The good news is that it is perfect for V160 or BMW manual trans swap, and that the ring gears are interchangeable in many different BMW models if you want to go shorter so no need to go aftermarket
