My guess would be a Toyota branded track pack similar to the S2000 CR A91 final edition with various BMW bolt-ons that don’t require Recertifying the powertrain. These laps are proving the magazine talking points of X number of seconds faster per lap than the base which they will do for legitimacy.

Upgraded shocks, body kit, brakes, diff, rims and the a91 strut bar and a retro color like RSP would still make for the Ultimate mark V supra

Alright boys found this video. Now what do we think it sounds like a b58 or an s58

B58 no doubt. Listen to an M2 video back to back and the S58 sounds different.

Question being, how many of y’all would go out and buy the S58 version? Since I really like to track, this B58 version is mega affordable. Just on RockAuto website yesterday. 💩 is mega affordable for a car this capable on track.

Now if I had extra coin just to keep another in the garage, drive around town, oh hell YUS. Except the wife would want the M2 with the extra backseat if we’re not tracking it 😒

We already basically have RSP. Stratosphere/Portimao is pretty close and they're going to stick with the BMW pallet.

What we need is a good green like Java Green or Isle of Man Green.

I’m on board with the idea that it’s a Supra with more “M” parts bolted on, but no S58. The Supra is already pretty close in power-to-weight ratio with the M2 due to lighter weight. The S58 would require the higher rated ZF trans in the G8X cars and presumably their axles, too.

Just seems like too much when it’s already so close to the M2 on paper.

BMW: we'll give you the S58 before we give you C4G

If the GRMN was confirmed with the S58 I would trade in my A91 within a heartbeat.

what are the chances Toyota does a CS/CSL with the Supra?

As

ask your self what are the chances that Toyota engineers’ and certifies the S58 into a chassis that BMW hasn’t even done yet and ships it to a plant that doesn’t have those engines in their production line already, all for a few hundred cars on a model being phased out?

Or it can slap some desirable off the shelf go faster parts to the Rolling assembly for very little R&D $s and sell just as many for decent mark ups.

I think we forget the fact that the Supra is a modified Z4, which was developed for 400hp.
An 500hp engine would require a major redesign.

I highly doubt we will ever see this engine in the Supra, as nice as it would be.

It would also effect BMWs M cars sales I think.

But you guys always talk about M2 or M4.
Ever seen the M3 Touring? 😎

I don't think the car here has an S58 but from a sales argument standpoint, I don't see how a S58 Supra can steal much of the M2/3/4 sales just from the engine alone.

If that's the case, then the M240i would lose a lot of sales form the Supra because they share the B58 and the partnership would never have formed in the first place.

For one, the S58 Supra is not going to be a volume car. Second, the Supra is a 2 seater and M cars seat 4 adults. Buyer looking at an M2 will not immediately jump to the S58 Supra just because of the superior performance. They will see that the Supra cannot carry more than 1 passenger and has no usable trunk space. The M car demographics are those who want versatility, a 'one car does it all' type of people. Most Supra owners do have other cars in the garage and simply wants a pure sports car ownership experience.

Obviously, Toyota has already made up its mind on the engine spec so let's just wait and see. Having a 6MT here is already a good start.

Slim to none. You know how many people would Femto unlock their Supra with an S58 and be faster than the M2 and maybe even the M4?
