If there is a big disconnect, it’s on Toyota because with the GRMN Yaris and GR Corolla Morizo, you see GT3/RS esque level of motorsports enhancements above the base. They were not the Porsche CS level of ‘sportyness’ you implied
You think the Morizo is RS level over the GR Corolla Circuit? How is that? Spoiler: it’s not.

Unless you are trying to say over the normal non-GR Corolla which doesn’t apply here at all.

After looking at what Toyota has done with the Tacoma X Runner, GR Corolla Morizo, and GRMN Yaris.... This is very underwhelming right now.

As I said before, at least it's not another bullshit "A9x Edition" model... But I would love to see the A90 Supra 3000GT kit on this send off.

I really hope that joke of a front bumper and rear wing is someone just having a good laugh.

It really feels like Toyota despises their BMW bastard. Their stupid ass edition releases is a testament to low effort they are with this car... along with their archaic tech that they refuse to update. Still using iDrive 6... When they are already up to iDrive9.

"But it's a sports car! We don't need new technology!"... Shut the fuck up!
I seriously doubt they're just having a good laugh... they'll do that when they release a car for $85K with $8K(ish) worth of upgrades - and watch dealers sell them at $110K.

Agreed on the underwhelming in comparison statement... but I missed where I can actually buy a Tacoma X Runner... because I'm truck shopping at the moment. ;)

I don't think anybody actually bought them so Toyota may as well unload them on the last model year/special edition/grmn. 😅
Since the current mule does have a monoblock version of the 2 piece CF wheels. The CF wheels will likely still remain as an option.

The upgrades already look to be over 8K on just the mechanical aspects alone. Especially if there is a possibility of have a completely new diff as pointed out by @razorlab. I won't be surprised to see an MSRP of $100K+ depending on what is further added to the car.

There are some dealers that don't do markups out there. The one I've got a reservation at only does markups on used cars.

The Tacoma X Runner is another Toyota SEMA project like the A90 Supra 3000GT. So my bad on that. But it is still infuriating that these functional concepts exist. I don't understand why they can't sell them as TRD aftermarket kit or something.

I read somewhere that Toyota will sell the "GR or GRMN "parts separately to current owners juzt like they did in the past with TRD parts. I'm trying to look for the article. I don't know how accurate the information is.

These were the wheels on the mule, off the shelf Braid wheels https://www.braid-wheels.com/en/bpf-02/P-1201?L2VuL3JvYWQtdHJhY2tkYXktL0YtMTQ4NjI=

I doubt they'll use them as I don't ever recall braid supplying wheel at an OEM level. But these wheels should be reflective of the dimensions and weight they plan on using. Titan 7 TS5 also looks more than similar to it.

I don't see a S58 in it either, the earlier posts about how BMW never certified a chassis with S58 makes sense, specifically emissions certification. I work in an engine manufacture and Euro emissions cert has gotten so expensive to cert these days, a few hundred special engine builds on a normally 50k usd car just doesnt make sense, unless they sell it for crazy money.

What makes a lot of sense is exactly what you see in the pics. M performance brakes, lowering ride height, sticky tires, light aero (if any) will make the car more capable on track (esp the tires) to the journalist, and Toyota will be able to charge at least 70k imo and plenty of people will buy that. Call it the 2026 Supra A91-FEMTO (Final Edition MT Overcharge) while paying respect to our favorite ECU unlocker

That front end doesn’t have the sensors automatics have. So it’s definitely a manual transmission, which leads me to believe it’s the s58 motor the 473 hp one where you can get a manual on the m4 and NOT 503Hp version which is auto only.

Guys, can we please have more informed posts here.

That has nothing to do with the trans. Base autos also don't have that because it's part of the premium or tech package. Manuals also have the parking sensors if they have the right package.

The 45th Anniversary Edition comes with nothing except an Alibaba wing and stickers. The price for that is already $65,000 MSRP. With this car having upgraded suspension, brakes, and a possible differential upgrade... I don't see this thing being under $80,000.

Looks like for good reason, lol.
The Supra itself is ugly as hell already. It is literally a bootleg FT-1 wide body kit slapped on a Z4. Might as well go full hotboi on this release for people like me.

People in this thread:

I want a Supra that is GT3RS level with areo that will suck the earth into a black hole while having an M power S58 engine to propel it out of the black hole. It must have a totally new interior with bucket race seats, a roll bar, 325 wide tires, huge brakes that are bespoke and if that wing on the back isn't 10 feet tall, I'm not buying it.

Also I expect it to only cost $5,000 more than the normal Supra. If it costs more than that iT'S nOt GoInG tO bE WoRtH iT. mY UnClE cAn BuIlD mE tHe SaMe ThInG fOr ChEaPeR.

Please come back into the reality orbit people, ya'll are flying way too high.

It actually has to cost LESS than the current mkv and the dealer has to have below msrp deals on it also.

NO!!!! YOU”RE WRONG! It’s the S58!!!!!!!
Everyone knows through rational deductive reasoning that the lack sensors logically means the Supra tested has the S58. Additionally, the lack of sensors indicates is a targa top.
