I am currently running catless on an OTS map (Multimap stage 2 to be specific). I'm going with custom soon enough just waiting on a meth kit to arrive. Not to mention a catless DP almost certainly requires custom tuning and not an OTS map. Never seen a catless car not overboost/throttle cut like crazy on OTS maps without WGDC tuning.
I was just talking about with JB4. If you are running a "stage 2" map, it should already account for a higher flow dp. Of course custom tuning would get it further dialed in though.I am currently running catless on an OTS map (Multimap stage 2 to be specific). How long will it take to charge me?Today is Thursday you have to add Friday to that because there's one more work day. 13 plus Friday is 14. Did you notice any difference, or have any issues with your hood vent? When I bought the Supra it was to have a track capable car without having to modify it like I did all my previous "track" cars...
and here we are...

If the website said 11 days that's 950400 seconds. Add three more days making it 14 days or two weeks or 1.21e+6 seconds. Multiply 1.21e+6 by the radius of the observable universe, which is 4.40×1026 m (14.26 gigparsecs). Subtract the critical mass of the universe and divide an hour lunch break for the person shipping your package. See equation below. How long will it take to charge me?
the website says ~11 days.
Only needs it if the cars software has been updated. Did you or does the car have the brake recall done? If so, need a bench unlock.I have a dumb question which I am sure must have been answered on here before many times over, but I could not see its anywhere.. (apologies)
I have an early 2020 ECU. If I use BM3 does my ECU still need a basic bench unlock (I think that’s the right term?) before I can use it or can the BM3 do the unlock?
Similar question….If I was happily using a BM3, but took it to Toyota for a service and they did an update which if I understand correctly will partially lock it again, can the BM3 unlock it or would it need to have a bench unlock again? What is used for a bench unlock? Is that done using Ecutek Vs the hardcore send it Finland approach)
Cheers for the info @razorlab, much appreciated! ??Only needs it if the cars software has been updated. Did you or does the car have the brake recall done? If so, need a bench unlock.
If the dealer updates at any time after using BM3, need a bench unlock.
Pre June 2020 ecus can be bench unlocked in the USA.
Well if u have an OBD2 adapter you can check whether you need a bench unlock or not. I explained it in the thread. It's the same process as checking if you ECU is pre June 2020. Use either MHD or BM3 app to check it will tell you if you need a bench unlock or not.Cheers for the info @razorlab, much appreciated! ??
I’d love to know what they do exactly for a bench unlock! (wonder if it involves taking the lid off the ECU and connecting to some debug port to bypass the lock)
Well if you need to update your ECU you're going to have to take it back to the dealership. BM3 does not delete or overwrite the stock tune as it is always there. However, the dealership will most likely lock the ECO again, but you don't need to ship it to Femto again and it will just be a bench unlock. Which most garages can do. As for your second question, I am not sure about MHD, but BM3 licenses can be sold to someone else, so yes BM3 does have resale value.I have another dumb question I’m afraid, but I also have a bit of info that you may want add to the start of this thread.
Question: With BM3, does it overwrite the entire flash image of the ECU so if there was an update from Toyota (say some safety critical thing) this will be lost when using BM3 unless bootmod keep up to date incorporating the latest Toyota releases with their stuff? Or Does BM3 only change one small file of the overall flash image?
My info is it may be worth mentioning one difference between BM3 and MHD is that you can change BM3 to a new user so has resale value while MHD is locked to one person/vin.
Not correct. The original rom on the car is over written with BM3. The stock rom in BM3 is whatever they have on their server for the car. Just to be clear: BM3 does NOT read out your stock rom and store it.Well if you need to update your ECU you're going to have to take it back to the dealership. I took a screenshot to help answer your first question.

This is what I was starting to think was the case, I was looking at the description on the Visconti site where it talks unlock for EcuTek and downgrade for MHD/BM3 where I am thinking EcuTek coexists with whatever your current Toyota firmware modules are while BM3 does something more global like replacing the entire firmware image. So, in theory BM3 may replace some totally unrelated module (e.g. braking module )with an older version If it’s servers are not up to date. Not correct. Just went through this with them. My original ROM on the car didn’t need bench unlock. Now if going back to “stock”, I need a bench unlock as the ROM on their server is newer than what was originally on the car.
First off, I believe Visconti about as far as I can throw him. Although, I may be misunderstanding all this too! ?
