It's funny you brought up the single exit causing parachuting. I've been trying to figure out how I want to remedy that. I could just buy a verus diffuser and call it a day but I dont want to spend $~700 when I have a bunch of alumalite and a cutoff wheel staring at me in the garage. There's three options in my mind:Folks. I'm at a crossroads.
Context:
I only do HPDEs. I've been asked to start getting more serious with my driving (One Lap of America and Gridlife shenanigans). So I'm starting to look at my current "build" and finding where the most gain per dollar is.
Right now heres where I'm at:
SPL FLCAs (-2.7 degrees of negative camber currently in the front. -2 degrees in the rear)
CSG pads.
TItan 7 wheels/ appropriate sized tires
15mm spacers up front.
Verus front splitter
Big ol' single exit exhaust causing parachuting.
So the car currently has 4 exposed holes (currently covered by my wrap) from a Mk4 wing. I had intentions of buying a verus UCW as the stands cover my existing holes and remove this wrap. I miss having a yellow car.
I also have a set of Verus camber plates sitting idly to the side. Do I install them with HKS springs to gain some front wheel clearance (remove spacers) but also know they're too soft for track use with aero?
Basically - validate my thought process or (Bryan)call me stupid and put me on a better path (not spending $5k on coilovers right now)
To note: The UCW is not at retail pricing. Not even close.
EDIT: I realize my thoughts are jumbled. Heres a tldr
I have 4 holes in my hatch covered by my wrap. I'd like to have them covered and go back to a yellow car. A UCW at a lower than retail price will accomplish that.
Or do I suck it up buttercup and remove the wrap, leaving the holes exposed and take that $$ and put it towards alternative parts and deal with yellow vinyl over my trunk. I do still care about the aesthetics to a point. I hate having exposed holes.
1. Simply attach the alumalite to the two bolts that attach the underbody cladding slightly behind and above the diff then attach it to the bottom clip points on the black part of the bumper
2. Do everything in #1 but dremel out the reflectors, add mesh, and cut/bend the heat shielding to allow for any air to escape
3. Do a bumper cut just below the parking sensors and leave the backup light where it is. attach the alumalite to #1/#2's spots by the diff and then use some of the studs/available bolt holes on the underbody to attach the rearward part of the alumalite
All the while trying to keep the angle of the diffuser to be no more than 12 degrees inclined (If I remember right 12 or maybe 14 degrees is typically the flow separation point, cant remember right now)
EDIT: I forgot, there is a 4th option. @garudathree used a rear diffuser from a gt350 that apparently fits up quite easily without cutting. Not sure how much it costs though
