...but not while the car is under warranty?;)
It's not an actual issue. If you want them to check it out, that is your right. They will probably just drain and refill. If they refill it correctly, you will be fine. You will also probably be fine if you don't do any of that.

I just received a call, yesterday about a Supra survey for Toyota. It was about 20 minutes long and included quite a few thoughts. I called back, today to add the diff leak information because Toyota needs to hear the good and bad about ownership. While I was working full time, I had attended a review board for issues that production and quality departments were having. I represented our advanced mfg. engineering department, so it was my goal to uncover root causes of issues. Often, I had to pass on information to design engineers, or simply change their drawings, myself.

This is why Toyota needs feedback. Their reputation is at stake. I can be a small part of that. Perhaps this issue will be corrected for good. I hope so.

Hate to break it to you... Toyota doesn't give a F about Supra owners input. They sell a little over 100 Supras a month in the USA, total.

Guess how many Corollas they sell a month? Over 20,000. *A MONTH* TWENTY THOUSAND.

Any input from Supra owners isn't going to do a damn thing. Their reputation is not at stake from our input. At all.

Toyota doesn't even make the damn thing. Magna Steyr does.

Toyota paid a survey company to spend 20 minutes with me to rate and pinpoint areas for improvement. Why would they do that if they don't care? I've worked with Japanese engineers and they should be giving lessons to US and German auto company engineers. They consider their reputation to be very important. Consumer Reports just published an issue in which the most to least reliable auto companies are listed. Lexus/Toyota are at the top, where they are every year. Don't kid yourself, Toyota's reputation is very important to them.

I guess I am an optimist, but that's why I will do whatever I can to find root causes and get them reported. In this case, it's not my job; rather, it is my goal and hope.

It’s an overall Toyota survey by a 3rd party. It’s not a Toyota or built by them. They sell a little over a hundred a month. They sell over 100,000 actual Toyotas a month.

Corporations work in percentages and I guarantee they don’t give a F about the .01%

US and German corporations? Perhaps, but my experience has shown that even the smallest things are important to many Japanese companies.

Well, I hope you guys are correct in that the leak is not due to a failed component. I should know by 10:00 AM (PST), tomorrow. If it is due to just an overflow of differential fluid, the manual should state the possibility of this happening, should the factory continue to overfill. Ideally, the root cause will be pulled from the soil and burned.

You really really want to keep your Supra away from a Toyota dealership unless its for a recall. They are not experienced, and do not want to service this car.
Can confirm.

Awww. 😂

They don't care mate. Your brand new car still has wind buffeting issues that were there four years ago.. maybe stick that in the survey too.

Take a look and listen at 22:34 and primarily 25:28 (Hint: the Japanese Auto Engineer has a Supra)
Bottom line: Toyota DOES care. Watch the video!

How many different ways does it need to be stated that it isn’t made in Japan? Not one thing on the car is made by Toyota. Maybe the Toyota logo badges. Those are probably Magna Steyr too.

BMW and Magna Steyr.
