A few of us were in talks about getting it 3D scanned and possibly raised up a bit. I actually have to pull my wing off and take it to the dealer to have it replaced. I had deep scratches in mine when I received the car on delivery. Of course I've already adjusted it and put it in the "track " position. But once I knew that I'm going to see how hard it is to get it off the car and possibly get them scanned
Jesus. Good luck mate. My instrument cluster was dropped at birth and getting it replaced under warranty was an absolute, err.. cluster fuck.

Perhaps if it had 450 HP from the factory.....
Not every owner is a Fast & Furious type of person. ?
You mean like one of these?

Some repeat links but fun seeing how competitive this car is in its class.

I hope you get yours back soon so you can enjoy it!!!!!!

Exactly! Thanks for the links.
Regarding my car: The expected parts/tools delivery date came and went, so I called Toyota corporate to explain the situation. The spokesperson told me that their parts acquisition team will investigate and get back to me, this week.
In the meantime, I found that there are a couple of BMW-specific shops in this area. I will call one or both to see if they have the parts and tools to fix the leak.
The California Lemon Law qualification rules include a dealership's inability to fix a warranty issue within one month. The other qualification is not fixing an issue after three attempts.
Since my car has $3500 in PPF, selling the car back to the dealership for what I paid would be my last option

How many times do you need to be bent over by Toyota before you declare that everybody who thought this was going to become an absolute shitshow was correct and that all of your bullshit about Japanese companies caring and your engineering experience and watching of YouTube videos was all for naught?

There was a big article in the Wall St. Journal, Saturday about Boeing's quality woes. Included in the article was mention that many companies are also experiencing parts shortages. Leading up to these issues was the fact that many of the most-experienced workers who were laid off during the pandemic, never returned. They retired or switched jobs.
My issue is likely to be a parts issue, but it's not just Toyota that is having this type of issue. A friend had to wait three months to get her Honda Oddesy fixed after having fender damage.
If there is a global parts shortage for some Supra components, your suggestion that I simply fix the issue, myself or take my car to a BMW shop would be fruitless.

I hope to find out, soon. In the meantime, the $52,000+ Toyota Crown Hybrid Max I'd been loaned is not exactly a crasher.

The parts you need are in stock at multiple suppliers. It’s like you are tone deaf to logic.

Worse than that an engineer
We all predicted the outcome. I just don’t think this is the platform for him. I’m thinking Prius

It’s going to be pure comedy if in the end, it’s just the normal breather hole leak. Nothing that has been shown has proven otherwise yet. Hell, the story itself has change multiple times already.

Nope, the story has remained the same. Have you ever read of a Toyota or Lexus with a leak in a new vehicle that was not reported anywhere in a forum? Does that mean that the leak doesn't exist?
Does anyone here who has commented have 20 years of experience repairing BMWs and their diffs?

You stated it was at the driveshaft, then you posted the photos that the tech took and the photos point to the tech saying it was at the axle.

Ahhh the ol’ “this many years of experience” argument. You really are tone deaf.

Good luck. Can you remind us again how long the car has been sitting at the dealer?

I still think that’s the best/quickest solution. My son had a fender bender. Parts was “unavailable” due to national shortages. It was going to take a LONG time to fix. I got online, ordered the part, body shop completed the install.

I got the run around at my local dealer when I 1st got my Supra. I didn’t listen to everyone on here but it was in the back of my mind. Another delay came up with them. I got my keys back (thank gawd) & realized times have changed. Just like you said. I now enjoy my car - servicing it somewhere else.

One positive dealership side note: my wife’s 2019 VW GTi, local dealership changed the battery under warranty. Pretty impressive in today’s times. But that’s as far as I’m going to push my luck at any big box that isn’t allowed to think outside that box. The old ways don’t work anymore.
