Has anyone used the BMW Z4 option to code ASD on or off?
Ahh.. that might be part of the problem. You're better off using the Z4 section as it is the same as the Supra but allows more options - and I would venture, far better supported by BimmerCode.

Will give it a go tonight, does it matter if you have used the Supra option first and then use BMW Z4? Meaning for the same function i.e. ASD, if I've accessed with Supra then use Z4, could it cause a problem? I guess only one way to find out, right lol

So coding by selecting supra is completely useless if the z4 has everything the supra section has but offers more features and does a better job coding your selections into the car apparently ?

I don't really know. I have been careful to use Z4 exclusively as I presume the back-ups for each vehicle type are stored differently and it could get messy if you apply some things from each?

It sounds like your system is just having a moment. It might not be an option for you but I'd consider taking it to a dealer (eek!) and having them hard reset everything. After I had my cluster replaced (long story) my system developed some weird iDrive quirks. What fixed it for me was removing the iDrive driver profiles, creating a new profile and then toggling the settings that were misbehaving.

That's my understanding. Unless I'm missing something, I see no valid reason to use the Supra section over the Z4.

Anyone?

An update on my ASD saga (which is still not working), I used the Z4 option to read the ECU, like the Supra option, it states current condition is "Unassigned Value". I used expert mode and had a look at the various settings and they look normal (based on the "Bimmercode for Dummies" default values).

BMWAF, I think your idea to reset (or reboot) iDrive might do the trick, can you kindly instruct me on how to do that? I saw videos for iDrive 7 where you press the radio volume knob down x number of seconds, and it reboots itself twice and then its reset. Is procedure same for iDrive 6? Couldn't find anything on YouTube except one guy who used the "Delete Personal Data" function and called it a reset, is this the genuine iDrive 6 reset (or reboot)?

On another note, I reset the mirror angle from default 71% to 50% while I was accessing ECU using Z4 (I found 30% not enough, might be because I have my seat right to the bottom as I'm 6ft tall). Just thought I would share that info as 30% was useless to me.

Not 100% sure but I believe it has something to do with holding down the entertainment/volume button for a while. Just run a google search I guess.

I found deleting the driver profiles helped.

I don't think it's a height thing.. that setting is preposterous. I've set mine to 40% from memory.

I saw a YouTuber "Chris's Bimmers" instruction and apparently iDrive 6 or less, you supposed to hold the "mode" button + "volume" knob or "eject" button, but he said don't quote him and he was planning to show in a future video (which I think hasn't happened).

Yeah.. not sure. The problem is that if you need it to go back to factory, I think that's going to take a trip to the dealer. ?

Also I noticed a new BimmerCode update when I checked it yesterday. Maybe they've added some new things - I hope I can finally code my cluster now!

Yes, I noticed 2 BimmerCode updates came through in the last week or so. Anyway, I did the iDrive soft reset and no change, ASD still not active. Might try the hard reboot per Chris's Bimmers instructions for iDrive 6.

Worth a try. My cluster still can't be coded. Ugh. ?

Just curious, what do you want to code in your Cluster?
I want to:

a) Remove the annoying Auto Off symbol - my car always runs in Sport mode so its redundant.
b) Attempt to remove cruise control from the HUD whilst keeping it in the cluster - if anyone knows how to do this, please reach out!
c) Add my date of birth, lol.
