So I called a bunch of dealers in the greater LA area, here are my results:

Longo Toyota: Added me to a "very long waitlist". Mentioned something interesting, that the USA is only getting 190 units for this entire 2019 year (some of which he's positive they'll be getting), the rest will come early 2020. Would love to know if anyone has heard similar. He also made it seem like this first batch of the year will be the launch edition, and that Base / Premium would come in 2020.

Toyota of Hollywood: No deposits, no waitlist.

Keyes Toyota: Second on waiting list.

Toyota of North Hollywood: No waiting list or deposits, person was rude and told I can contact them when the car releases but no earlier. Update #2: Told me that Marina Del Rey and Santa Monica may be getting them, but still no info on whether they'd be carrying any.

Toyota Downtown LA: No waiting list or deposits.

Toyota Santa Monica: Sales said they're arriving late this year, but there's no vin number(s) and currently no way to place order…they're in the dark about timeline or allocations. Direct quote, "If anyone gives you a timeframe they’re lying." Lol.

Toyota Marina Del Rey: Spoke to New Car Sales Manager, they're not taking deposits or doing waiting list. It will be strictly First Come First Serve when cars hit the lot. (Sounds like ADM to me). Update #2: apparently I’ve been put on a waiting list lol. Summer 2019 for all trims according to person who followed up with me.

Seems like none of the dealers have real info except for Longo, which maybe makes sense since they're the biggest Toyota Dealer in the nation (or State?). If anyone finds a dealer in SoCal that will take a deposit please DM me!

There are always dealerships that don't charge markup, just gotta go find em. Longo Toyota was great at 86 launch, I have no doubt they will do the same this time.
What happened when they release the 86?

So, I just emailed Suburban Toyota here in Troy Michigan this was the response:
The Toyota Supra is a very rare production vehicle, so they cannot be ordered. If you have any other questions you can stop in the dealership and get more information from a manager.

That's just how things are done in the US in most places.

There are dealers that will do msrp like Longo, but it's few and far between for sure.

RIP.

At the store I work at will be Msrp with no ADM. The owner called dibs on the Launch edition if we get one. (I was told by my Toyota rep last month that it will be roughly one per dealer some will get more.)

If you are wondering who will mark them up, look no further than the Trd Pro Tacomas and 4Runners, if a dealer marks those up then figure they will mark up the Supra. If they sell those at MSRP or discount those then there is a better chance they won't mark up the Supra.

Look around there are good dealers out there and the opposite.

I'm in Wisconsin. I'd love to sell you one but knowing Toyota they cater to CA way more then the Midwest. So I'd tell you to find someone in your area that's not marking them up and go with them. Honestly we don't know what we will get beyond a Launch Edition. Some well connected dealers might know more than me but officially all the dealers have been told is that the Supra was shown at the Detroit Show. I am an enthusiast and ask for info all the time but 99% of my info comes from the internet as they don't tell us anything.
