For those playing at home, these look exactly the same on a non 45th anniversary edition Supra. ?
I think he was concerned about the color showing between the fender and the actual sticker thing. I didn’t even think about it until I was taking the pictures

I know.. but the 45th Anniversary edition elitism is a bit long in the tooth. I mean who the fuck celebrates 45 years. 50, sure.. but 45? lol. Just a money grab if I have ever seen one.

I agree. I love the color. The wing is eh. I’m kinda upset Toyota placed the uprights where they are. I’m looking ant getting them filled annd painted so I can run the andro wing. And the graphic has grown on me….a little. I wish we could’ve gotten the color without all the extra stuff like the rest of the world

Yes, that's my car on the site. They definitely conform easier and look better for longer. They're more aerodynamic too if you care about autocross / track day stuff. There's some adjustability in it to have it stick out wider or shorter depending on your wheel needs.
somehow i cracked both of my ZL1 rears after putting on 285s.. but these.. interesting

Honestly, most if not all things by manufacturers are money grabs. Limited Edition, 45th Anniversary, with BMW they started putting the M before the numbers as in M340i and then in the most recent versions added M mirrors when it’s not a true M car, etc. Companies have to find ways to sell more cars.

I know and I 100% agree. I love it when clowns start talking about companies doing things for their customers out of love or respect or whatever, like corporations have emotions. ?

Everything is driven by the share price. Everything.

I saw a 45th anniversary at my local shop yesterday getting some mods done on it. I’m really falling for the wing and hoping Toyota sells it or that an aftermarket company knocks it off. Just me though as the wing seems controversial on the forum.

I doubt I'll ever see the wing in the flesh - unless I spot one while over in the US. We don't get such editions here - but the colour is available as a standard option.

In photos online the wing just looks too small and something you would put on a Camry to make it feel "sporty." Mind you, I feel the same way about the swan neck wing seen on the "GRMN" spy shots. In fact, I dare say that one looks even worse. ?‍♂

And as for the sticker, I saw this on Reddit.. as a Nitro owner, I'm not sure how I feel about it.

Not trying to hi jack the thread, but just a quick question. How is the MKV love, support or community out there in Australia? Do people care for it at all?

Interesting question. The general public here seem to absolutely love the car and it literally snaps necks everywhere I go. In fact, every time I drive it someone comments, smiles or gives me a thumbs up: I've had people follow me to petrol stations; little kids stare and wave; bigger kids ask to hear it rev; random shouts of "IS THAT A SUPRA?" and sometimes when I park, people will just come over and ask about it. I'm honestly not into the attention but boy is it an attention-getter.. and if I'm being honest, it's kind of cool. It feels quite humbling to be honest and like I have a bit of a responsibility to take the time, which I'm OK with. I know we all know the Supra is not a super car - and it isn't - but it does give off Super car vibes - especially in look at me yellow - and to many of the general public, it may as well be one.

At car meets people are similarly intrigued but a little more subdued as you can feel an undercurrent of "it's just a BMW" - particularly at JDM meets. Some like to ask if its a manual (to try and bring you down a peg, I suspect), which tends to difuse quickly as soon as I say, "sure is." Generally though, people at meets are positive and nobody has really said anything to make me think otherwise - I think I've had one "Nice BMW!" comment in jest. Mind you, BMWs are generally held in quite high regard here, so that's neither here, nor there. I guess it's a the same as online - usually some salty MKIV owner off in the distance grumbling in 90s JDM, lol. Most people at meets are just happy to see a MKV in the flesh and for the most part are pleasantly surprised at just how good it looks in real life.

On the road I tend to see a Supra every few days, so it's relatively rare but not super rare. I usually get a friendly wave or flash of the lights which I do also, which is nice. As for meet-ups, it is very rare to see other MKVs, which is a little disappointing. And organising other local owners to catch-up is a bit like herding cats.

Overall, it's a pretty wild car to own. If I had've bought a suitably more expensive M2, nobody would've batted an eye-lid at car meets or in general. With the Supra, every drive is filled with positive attention, which after a year of ownership I still find quite strange, and as I said earlier, also quite humbling.

Elitism from Toyota or owners? I don't think I've really seen anyone acting precious about the 45th edition around here, save one infamous person that is banned now anyways, and one other guy who kept saying it was the "top end spec" (lol wut?) to justify why he was using it for price comparison reasons to other cars - which was stupid.

Agree that the special editions are just cash grabs tho - and that's coming from someone that actually likes the 45th spoiler and the Mikan color.

Umm I'll just insert this here....

I ran my 45th on the track to test stuff. Fun times.

That’s what I’m talking about! Does anyone know if the 45th Anniversary in Mikan came in both AT and 6MT or just one choice?
