Finally picked up after a 12 month wait, just in time for the Luxury Car Tax revision.

First thoughts: Wind buffeting worse than expected, stereo issues way overblown (coming from a 2008 Prado I'm happy), clutch & brake so close that I think I'll have to be mindful about my footwear choice.

Now to spend the afternoon sifting through all the settings. Can't wait to get it out on the track.

That's a good point re the LCT. I'm assuming the LCT is calculated at time of delivery / contract completion? Did you ask the dealer for a revised contract?

This. Anyone who hasn't experienced it hasn't had the windows down at speed. Luckily it's an easy fix.. and there's no need to spend hundreds of dollars either.

Agreed. The stereo isn't great but it's also no where near as bad as some people make out. The Tada port mod is worth doing for some improvement and it's a nice easy project if, you're into that sort of thing.

My first impression was exactly the same but after a year I've gotten used to the pedal arrangement. While the entire footwell still feels quite small, I have pretty much gotten used to is and haven't had any major footwear issues.

It's all done on day of first registration I believe, which for me was 1 day prior to pickup. They sent through a revised tax invoice which breaks it all down.

Whoever did the rear woofers part of the group project really dropped the ball, will be doing the port mod at some stage. I'm actually impressed by the clarity of the front speakers, just missing some mid-bass kick, but not enough to do anything about it.

Congrats. Do you guys in AU get any other wheel options? What size are those wheels? They look like what we get in the U.S. on the base 2.0 car.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one that thought this. On the test drive I thought I'd need to ditch the boots but it's really been a non-issue issue since.

We have the same wheels but we get the "2.0" 18's on our GT grade, and 19's on our GTS grade. They're both B58s but the GTS also gets the JBL audio and a couple of other improvements/options.

Ended up caving and bought the 23 gts that my dealer found in country. Picked her up today. Just in love with this car, man are they fun to drive. So happy.

I don't know much about the new emission laws but the timeline might not bode well for a MY25 Supra in Australia. Like the UK, the end for Australian Supras may be coming sooner than expected.

Wow, yeah, hadn't considered that. Looks like the 2025 target is now 210g/km and Supra sits at 255g/km. Looks like we really could be in the final days.

I'm really on board with global warming targets as I sit here freezing my arse off in the coldest Melbourne winter I've ever experienced since moving here 22 years ago. The planets climate future is gravely concerning to me. I'm as concerned and worried about the climate change "catastrophe" as much as I was by the mid 70's oil crisis catastrophe, the holes in the ozone layer catastrophe, the Y2k bug catastrophe, the "peak oil" crisis catastrophe. Yep gravely worried about Co2 for sure.

The Supra in the Australian market is such a low volumn car that it makes little financial incentive or sense to change the spec for the sake of earning a more favourable emission credit. It might actually cost them more to do all the recompliance again both internally in the company and with the government body

There's no compliance to do just paperwork for the EU spec if that's all it takes. You don't think new cars need a physical test in Australia do you.

Mighe be so but it just doesn’t happen magically without someone making it happen and this is not a one person’s job. There are meetings to be held and talk with engineers and so forth. It will cost them and they can easily offset the credit loss by selling more hybrids
