When I switched from OE to CSG pads...I bought new rotors for the car. When I switched the fronts from CSG to Pagid RSL29, I bought new front rotors for the car. I suppose while we're b!tchin' about brake pads, I'll report back on the RSL29s again.

At this point, I've done 5 track days with the car on these pads, all at CMP (notoriously hard on brakes).

Pros:
They are consistent and predictable from cold to hot
They work well cold
I've yet to fade them (back to back sessions with 2 drivers)
Easy-to-feel release characteristics
Easy on rotors compared to CSGs
Bedded on the street with new rotors, no shudder at all
Good street manners

Cons:
Price - expensive, but at least cheaper than CSGs
Availability is sparse
Not a lot of initial bite, especially compared to CSGs...but these are enduro pads so that's probably a feature, not a bug
Easy to overdrive - likely a "me" problem, but I end up overshooting the braking zones more than I'm used to. I'm also more aggressive at CMP than ANYWHERE else, again probably a me problem.

I ran the RSL 1 on my rear axle once and managed to overheat them in 3 laps at ABCC. RSL 1 is a higher friction and more heat tolerant pad than RSL 29, so I can't imagine the 29 would withstand many laps with grippy tires or on a car with much hp.

Not sure how to really reply to this one. It seems like apples to oranges with a different pad (RSL1) on just the rear of the car, and we don't know what's on the front of the car. Lots of variables in play. Looking at your profile, if you're a street mod car, you're probably making lot more power than me as well. Again, not sure how to respond.

I'm RSL29s in the front, CSG 11 in the rear. I'm stock power, 275 RE71s on 10.5s. I'm not fast, but I'm not slow. I've run back to back sessions with the RSL29 at CMP, and they withstood that use case just fine.

yeah that's what I got as my new rotors as well.

to be fair, the fronts are more like $75 than $55 :D

How about just getting them from FCP Euro once and exchanging forever? That's my plan. Got a pair ready to go for when I wear through the stock ones.
You can't order just once. With their new policy, you have to have at minimum 2 purchases for the cycle to be started. Factor in the shipping costs back to FCP euro?? Rockauto Rotors work out better.

does the geomet coating cause any issues with bedding? my guess is that the coating will get swept away from the rotor face upon the first hard stomp, but i'm not sure if it leaves a residue that will gunk up the pad

Yeah, I've put myself on the FCP Euro track. Now I have store credit after a round of buy/return, it makes sense to buy from them again...I'm also doing SRF through them. The shipping back prices do SUCK, though. I agree, dollar for dollar, Rock Auto probably comes out cheaper. The only thing that makes me feel a teensy bit better is that I'm at least getting Zimmerman rotors, which have treated me well on several previous cars.

I know the coating Zimmerman uses is really nothing but rust protection for shipping/storage. It's gone immediately, no gunking up the pads in my experience.

I bought them for $54.79/each last time, they have since gone up to $63.79/each

60031133D and 60031134D
Dammit! I was hoping you were going to tell us the $53.79 dollar ones were good enough.

Some people don’t like rusty looking rotors, like my wife. No issues at all with bedding. But again, I like to stick with the same pad compound with each rotor.

I’ve used Turner MS lifetime exchange for parts that don’t weigh much. They’ve been great. I’ve only heard good things about FCP Euro as well. But rotors have always been something that has been an affordable consumable to just replace em. For the cars I’ve owned at least.

Hmm, Apex sells V5RS in 18x10.5 +18ET 5x112 fitment for BMW, would it fit Supra front with coils (barely slimmer than stock on swift spring) set on stock height and -3camber? I dont wana run 11".

I think your main concern would be more on the outside than the inside with that fitment

+18 would stick out and probably hit the fenders.

For reference, I run +35 in my 18x10.5's and +40 in my 18x11

Another data point:
Stock springs, Verus camber plates, 18x10.5 +35 w/ 275s, 15mm spacers (front and back), pretty flush, but fronts stick out a little. That equates to a +20. + 18 will stick out beyond the fenders a little, even with coilovers and a lot of camber.
